Friday Favorites – 07.09.21

It’s been a bit since I have tossed up a Friday favorites post at all but today I decided it was time to brag a little about my family and maybe just reintroduce you a little. If you don’t know, I’m the mom to four and Honey to the sweetest baby girl. My kids range in age from 15-30 so I’ve been doing this gig for a long time and, spoiler alert, I still don’t have it all figured out! Thankfully they are all really cute!

Here are a few pictures and happenings I’m loving about them lately!

Jordan

Jordan is my oldest and the one who truly saved me. Besides the fact that she’s beautiful on the outside, she’s been doing the hard work the last few years to work on herself on the inside. It’s been so fun to see her become more confident in who she is as she accepts the things about herself that are part of her core while working to be a better version of herself. She works hard, she loves to travel and she apologized on our Vegas trip no less than 50 times for what a turd she was at 15 on vacations. Ha! It all comes full circle eventually mommas!

Haisley Gracce

Riley is the 2nd born but probably leads with the largest personality. We miss him so much during baseball season! He’s still trying to make it as a professional ballplayer and is currently playing AAA in the Astros organization for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Thankfully it’s not too far away from his girls and they are able to join him regularly. I loved this picture he sent me of him acting silly with my favorite grandchild! She reminds so often of him when he was little.

Dillon also plays baseball and if you have followed along then you may know he attended Rice University this past year. It was a LONG year full of so many downers for this kid. The isolation of all online classes and living alone in a dorm room took it’s toll on him. He also lost all confidence in himself on the field and his performance was very up and down. In late April he made the decision not to continue his baseball career at Rice. He will head to juco at San Jacinto College (or that is the current plan) this fall and he is really excited with the change.

This summer he has found his confidence again and is having so much fun playing summer ball in Charlottesville, Virginia. Yesterday they posted the graphic above on twitter as he is currently the strike out leader on the team! No one can ever get our last name correct, however, so of course I had to send them a little message about it. When the graphic below was posted last weekend I almost died! Ha! Too bad it didn’t help and they still can’t say it correctly. We can’t wait to see him next week as we will head up for a long weekend.

Carly Volunteering

My Carly girl has a heart for volunteering and she has been loving on some sweet kids during the Salvation Army vacation bible school. I love seeing this sweet smile and hearing all her stories.

Date Night

This guy and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary soon and I can hardly believe it. The kids seem to have grown up at warp speed and we are staring down empty nest life. There have been lots of date nights for us this summer because who wants to cook for two! He drives me nuts but over the last year we have definitely survived by giving lots of grace and lots of support to one another. His dad has been fighting cancer the last few years and is terminal while I’m navigating life with Alzheimers for my mom. We are learning to treasure our time together as we are often torn in two different directions.

Life really does just fly by and I’m thankful for this space where I can document a few favorite memories! Hope you have a great weekend! Take some pictures and document the ordinary.
