Friday Favorites

·
This week seemed to kind of drag along but not in that “oh my god will it ever be Friday way” and more in that soaking up ever single moment way.  It’s been a good week with some productivity at work and home, time spent with friends and family and a few gorgeous days that have me dreaming of spring.  This time of year playing hooky from work and sitting on a rooftop bar tossing back a cold one sure is tempting!

It is in fact finally Friday so here are a few of my favorite things of late!

Giggling

Beth shared her take on Tall Girl Problems and even though I’m only 5’7″ it totally cracked me up!

Inspiring

I’m obsessed with this Gallery Wall that Astleigh created.  So simple and clean. Target is having a home sale and these frames on markdown plus an additional 10% off with the code PRESIDENT. Lesson learned, I got a little too excited and ordered enough to create this look in our entry hall and they arrived today. Maybe I should have measured my wall first because holy huge!
Speaking of the Target sale, I was super, duper excited to run across the Young House Love post about the faux fiddle leaf plants from Target.  There are two sizes as she notes in her post and in my area they were not available for shipping but lots of stores had them available to order on line and pick up in the store.  I have been wanting one forever and couldn’t pass up the price or the extra 10% off.

Featuring

The Ageless Style linkup last week was full of outfit inspiration and this little lovely was my favorite! Isn’t this dress just adorable?  The color, the detail….love it all! Head over to 101 Things I Love to see all of Johanna’s looks.

I shared this working girl look on Wednesday and I am crazy over this new top I picked up at Loft.   I may have also ordered the similar skirt in kelly green.

A HUGE shoutout to the ever so fashionably fun, Dawn Lucy for featuring this look as a favorite on her Friday linkup.  Also a big thank you to Jennie who invited me to co-host last Friday where I first featured this look.  Both of these ladies prove you can age gracefully and still be stylish.

Reporting

Dillon had to report on something from Latin America and one option was to make a recipe.  I suggested making Fried Plantains and it was definitely easy enough for him to make alone.  We used this recipe and learned a few things.  If you are looking for a sweet result when frying, the plantains need to be super ripe.  Ours were not so the result was definitely more the consistently of a fried potato.  We added salt and all enjoyed them but I have had them sweet and definitely think that would be the preferred way to eat them.

Dillon is a super picky eater and I could not believe he not only tried them but also enjoyed them!

Loving

All my sweet Valentines!  I shared a little about My Loves on Tuesday.  This week I had some one on one time with all of them except Riley and he will be home today!  Our family is certainly not perfect and we all have our moments but I do think I can say for sure we are all committed to love each other through it.
And this tee from Texas Heart Apparel will be kicking it into high gear this weekend.  It’s super soft and I can’t wait to be watching lots and lots of baseball. I’m really thinking I need that hat and I’m on the hunt for some new shoes.  Still not sure if I want another pair of converse, some throwback addidas or just some of the slip ons in a fun color.  Dillon is kicking off the high school season and Riley will be heading to spring training in a few weeks.  It’s my favorite season but momma needs to look cute at the ballpark right?!!
Hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

  4. I have been eyeing the faux fiddle leaf figs for sometime. Just looked at them yesterday at Target so after I read your post and clicked over to the other bloggers, I decided to pull the trigger and ordered one to pick up in the morning! Thank you! I am going to use it at the beach house. I have the perfect spot!

  5. Cute tee! I think you need the baseball hat too😉 I should get one of those plants since I (probably) couldn't kill it…lol. I have a black thumb so fake is the only kind I can manage.
