Flower Power – Ageless Style Link-up
Today is the first Tuesday in May and that means it’s time for this months Ageless Style link-up party! Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust has chosen the theme Flower Power and after a month of April showers I’d say the theme is pretty perfect. I decided it was high time to show off one of my spring purchases!
Getting dressed each morning is one of my favorite things but also an area I tend to take a little too much time with if I do not do some pre-planning. I’m very guilty of planning an outfit in my head and waiting until the morning to try the first time look only to find it doesn’t work. Back to the drawing board and my Carly girl starts the countdown to keep me on time!
Setting aside some time on Sunday to pull together a few outfits and hang the items, including the accessories, together makes a huge difference for me. Bonus points if I actually try them on ahead of time! As you can see Dutch Buddy was pleased with my progress this morning!
I have been loving skirts again for some reason and when I saw this one I knew I had to have it. It is so different from anything else I had in my closet and it has the perfect amount of stretch plus the length is great for my longer legs.
Gingham Top|Tassel Earrings|Tote
Out the door and I’d like to take credit for coming up with this pattern mix but this is exactly how I saw the skirt paired on the J. Crew Factory website! I already had this gingham top so that was another selling point for sure. I love this top as it is super lightweight and can be worn even when the temps heat up.
Shoes always throw me just a bit and I’m still not sure this was the perfect pair for this outfit but they had to do. I kept the rest of my accessories fairly simple and walked into work feeling pulled together and professional.
I have worn this skirt several ways so far this spring and definitely think it will see lots more action through the summer. Red + Flowers is definitely powerful don’t you think?

STUNNING Mama!!! I like your little photo bomber in the office. You shine in this cute mix of colors and patterns. The shoes..oh those shoes, they will go with so much!
Love this fresh, spring outfit. DB is so cute on the bed, and look at those flower beds! Have a terrific Tuesday!
Love, love, love, love, LOVE!!! This is the flipping cutest outfit friend. You are beautiful!
This looks amazing! I always love your shoe choices, too:)
Love the print mixing, and the shoes are perfect! Do tell- did you find the shoes to be true to size? I bought a similar pair from Target a few years ago online and felt like I needed to size down a half size to be comfy. Thoughts? I need a new pair of neutral heels, so those would be perfect!
Love the flower power!
Love your outfit!!!
Superb pattern mixing Shelly and those earrings were the perfect accessory.
Goodness, I Love this look! That skirt can hop on over to my closet anytime. 🙂 I really enjoyed how you shared your photos this time around, too.
I love the theme Debbie chose as it is perfect for May – my favorite month and my birthday month also. I have yet to find the perfect gingham shirt but yours is. That skirt is stunning and it looks lovely with the gingham on top. I love that you have mixed three patterns beautifully. Love your shoes too and lady you have such a pretty home!
Welcome by my blog too and linkup with me tomorrow. A new linkup is live on Thursdays but I am doing it a day early this week. Thanks, Ada. =)
You perfectly executed this mixed print look. Love the shoes too!

That’s such a pretty skirt! I love it with the shirt! But I can see it styled so many different ways. I’m sure you’ll get quite a bit of wear out of it!
And yes to the importance of outfit planning ahead of time! I often start teaching at 7:30 a.m., so I don’t have a lot of time in the morning, and there is nothing worse than trying on an outfit that looked great in my head but just doesn’t work in real life…
