Five on Friday – Be Kind

·

Every day you can look around and see so many people being kind. Unfortunately you can also see so many acts of hate and rudeness. This week I was reminded our first defense is to be kind to ourselves! Here are my five on Friday favorites for the week.

Love Yourself #bekind #inspiration

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me share this post. Everytime I see someone be an asshole to someone just for the sake of trying to demean another person and steal their joy it makes me so angry. I loved her brave and sassy response so much and I think you will too!

Inspiration

Part of accepting yourself is learning to love yourself the way you are. This doesn’t mean always liking yourself or never wanting to change but it does mean you love yourself enough to be your best self and you accept yourself for who God made you to be. When you can truly own it all, especially the mistakes and the flaws, you will also be able to see the beauty in everything about yourself. It certainly makes it easier to fight off the enemy when he’s feeding you lies but it also helps you see the beauty in other people instead of focusing on their flaws.

Be Kind #inspiration #bekind

Just be kind damnit! It is really just not that hard. Even if being kind means you keep your mouth shut just do it. Almost every person you encounter ever single day is dealing with something or carrying a burden you have no knoweledge of. Don’t be the asshole they have to encounter at the stop light or the check out line or the office. BE KIND!

On the Bright Side #goodread #melanieshankle #books

Because I am so kind, I’m reminding you the pre-order for Melanie Shankle’s new book, On the Bright Side, is almost over! I have been so thrilled to be on the launch team which means I’ve knocked out multiple chapters and I just have to tell you it’s so good! Definitely an uplifting read!

Marriage #bekind

It’s been 2 years since this guy and I have gotten away for a few days alone on a “real” vacation. I have to say it just makes us more kind to each other when we can leave town and only focus on why we ended up together in the first place! I’m working on a getaway that won’t happen until August or September with our baseball and dance schedule and a graduating senior, BUT, my kids both have alternate plans for spring break so I’m heading to Round Rock where Keith works and plan to hold up at the Ruby Hotel for a little R&R.

What are you doing lately to BE KIND to others and BE KIND to yourself and others? Have a super weekend!
