Five Nordstrom Sale Staples In My Closet

Today all bets are off and EVERYONE can access the Nordstrom anniversary sale! My purchases have begun to roll in and so far everything I’ve grabbed has been a flop.  Should teach me to stick with the pieces I love!

Speaking of which, several pieces I do love and still wear often are part of the sale this year too.  Would you believe some I’ve had all the way back from the first sale I shopped in 2015!!  When you invest in classic, quality pieces you definitely get what you pay for.  I thought I’d show off today five Nordstrom sale pieces already in my closet!

Designer jeans are one of the best deals during the anniversary sale as the discount is closer to 45%.  The DL 1961 Florence jeans are definitely a favorite of mine and grabbing for just shy of $100 is a bonus.  I grabbed my first pair last year during the sale and picked up a second pair in a smaller size (yea!) this past spring.  I think they are such a good fit and hold their shape so well.  I would say if you are in between sizes to order down.  I have been teetering between an 8 and 10 for a long time but am now pretty much wearing an 8 most of the time and I’m wearing the 29 here.  I’m loving this black option with the frayed hem too!

I honestly cannot believe I’ve never shown a styled picture of these utility pants because I wear them almost once a week almost all year long.  They are lightweight enough to wear during the warmer months, have just enough stretch and are a serious staple for my closet because they go with so many things.  They also come in a great camo print and a burgundy color.

And can we talk about this top for a minute.  I have owned this top in multiple colors and it was seriously one of my very first Nordstrom purchases ever!  (see my love here and here) Pleione is one of my fave brands for tops and they don’t seem to be stocking them much anymore.  Lucky you, I found this top on Amazon in a slough of colors for under $25!  It seriously is a great top and so versatile.  My coworker also told me she has seen this brand at TJ Maxx.

So I own the Barefoot cardigan “original” which I wear more around the house as a robe but this circle cardigan is a great option and still has the same soft feel.  I love it layered with a striped top and jeans and have even worn with white jeans and it looks great.  I’ve debated the hooded version and even tried my friend Holly’s and, while it is fabulous, I just don’t feel like I can justify it when I have three total of these in perfectly great shape!  The “fluffier” version is on this years sale and I will have to see it on a real person because to be honest the pictures aren’t selling it for me.

These cardigans make amazing gifts for the women in  your life!  I’ve gifted to my mom and both sister in laws and they all love them.  Sadly it looks like the circle cardigan is pretty much sold out but keep checking back as people begin making returns it may restock!

One of my biggest splurges in 2015 was a pair of Frye boots.  Y’all, it is a splurge but during the sale is a great time to grab them.  As soon as I smelled the leather I knew I was keeping this pair!  Three years later and they still look amazing and are so incredibly comfortable.  I gifted a pair to Jordan for Christmas in 2016 and she loves them as well.  This years pair are a little different but I can guarantee they will be just as fabulous!

So for obvious reasons I’m not showing a “real” picture of me wearing this one (you’re welcome) but I can promise I wear this exact bra almost every single day.  I grab one every year during the sale and typically another closer to Christmas at least. I use to be a Victoria Secret girl but this bra changed that for me.

I am definitely a price per wear shopper when buying staples for my closet and I can tell you every one of these pieces have ended up a bargain for me as they are heavy in the rotation.  Staples are a great piece to pick up during the sale.

I also gave a preview of what was currently in my cart for the Nordstrom Sale.  Spoiler alert, only one piece from the cart has arrived and it was the pink cardigan.  I loved the fit and fabric but was not impressed with the color as it was less pink and more mauve.  I think I ordered it in black to try as well but if not tough luck because it has already sold out in all colors.
