Fess Up Friday
So today is National Donut Day and evidently I was thinking it was Do Not day because I will straight up confess I prepared nothing special for Friday Favorites! What is a blogger to do when the juices are just not flowing? Well I decided it was the perfect time to “fess up” about a few things.
…..I have spent every extra minute I have reading Me Before You!! Y’all, I have heard about this book for so long and when I saw the movie was coming out I wanted to read it first and it is so good I can hardly put it down. Yesterday Carly left my iPad at a friends house so I seriously was reading it on my itty bitty iPhone screen.
…..While I use to step on my scale daily, I rarely pull it out but finally decided I kind of needed to evaluate the situation because all my clothes are fitting too tight. Not pretty folks, not pretty. Evidently my ploy to eat and drink my way through Spring has been successful! Hence my plan to revive my healthy living with some clean eating, reviving the 10000 steps a day and cutting out the evening beer on the porch. The good news is I am working on reviving the Fit for a Queen series and started by providing a little nutrition info. If you are interested in Macronutrients you should check it out!
…..I may have gotten just a little carried away with the Nordstrom half yearly sale! Surprisingly I have not even opened the boxes which arrived yesterday and I’m not even positive I remember what I ordered. So I’m the one always concerned about our budget so when stuff like this shows up I’m looking at Keith like I have no clue where they came from and hence…no opening in front of him….ha. The best part about shopping at Nordstrom is free shipping and returns so the only risk I’m taking is that I will love it all! Here are some of my favorite things I saw on the sale. Can you guess what I may have ordered? I may unpack it all on Snapchat shortly. 🙂 Hint…when I’m feeling plump I my feet are always still skinny.
…..I really don’t know sometimes how in the world other people get so much done. I mean, y’all, I am not insecure about my success as a woman but dang it could I just find enough time to finish one book a month or one Net Flix series??!! I am amazed all the time at women who are reading like 3 books a month when I’m barely making it through one. Don’t even get me started on those of you who are watching Friday Night Lights or Gilmore Girls for like the 3rd time….I freaking started in October and am STILL NOT DONE!! So honestly, I really just wanna stay home all weekend and lay in bed reading while watching Gilmore Girls.
So that’s it friends a few of my little confessions for Friday! We have baseball a short drive away and will be splitting up so I can head to Wharton for my nephews graduation party. It will be a fun weekend and maybe, just maybe I’ll find a way to finish this book AND make it to the movies to actually watch it on the big screen.
Quick little prayer request….I have a sweet friend who needs to be lifted up today. She will be putting her kidos on a plane to see their grandparents for the first time alone. I know they are so excited and she is super excited for them but let’s admit this can be a little scary. Please pray that she is covered with peace and calm and also that her babies feel secure and safe. Thanks!
Wishing you all the best weekend!
I still need to read that book!!
Jaymie
I still need to read that one too. I read another book by the same author and I liked it! LOL about not yet finishing Gilmore Girls – you better get on that!
Fun post! I love those dresses from Nordstrom! There's nothing better than a good summer dress. I hear ya on the reading and Netflix. I'm a stay at home mom and struggle to read one month AND the only TV show I consistently watch is Curious George. Help! Have a great weekend!!
I have to laugh about the feeling plump but feet still skinny, I think that is why I have bunches and bunches of shoes. lol I joined a book club so I would read at least one book a month, and I love to read just can't find the time.
I just finished that book last night! I was like you and couldn't wait to finish it but it still took me 2 weeks! 🙁 Have a great weekend!!
Don't sweat the reading/viewing race that seems to be happening all over blog land. You are not measured by the number of books you read each month. You seem to be enjoying the heck out of your kids and their activities, and you work full time in finance (I know this life) so read when you want to read, and have a beer on the front porch when you want to! You're awesome!
Poor Holly! I know she has fretted about putting the kids on the plane! They will have a wonderful time but I will keep them all in my prayers today! Our friends flew back to Georgia today and with all the storms, they are delayed and rerouted thru LAX…….and I can not wait for the move Me before You this weekend! I loved the books!!! Have a fabulous weekend! Hope my snapchats aren't too boring for you!
The movie sounds soooo sad, I don't know if I'll be able to handle the book! I feel that the author always captures it better than any movie could.
We can do some weight loss together! I've gained a few lbs that I'd love to lose, nothing crazy but I'm tired of my clothes becoming tighter and tighter.
I love your nordstrom picks!

Oh, friend! Thank you so much for the prayers! We are headed to the airport right now! Love you!
Prayers to holly! And I snagged some super cute Sam Edelman Gigi sandals, the cork ones, and they arrived today…LOVE! And I loved me before you but I hated the ending Have a great weekend.
Prayers for your friend! And I totally get the "skinny feet: thing. My clothes are getting too tight also, but shoes always fit!
I only watch that much Netflix bc I'm lame and have nothing better to do! (But seriously – call in sick and finish GG) 🙂
Don't beat yourself up about getting it all done and or all in! You live life and you live it well. That is what matters. Loved the book, will wait for the movie to come on Demand since I dislike movie theatres. And your friend (shhh I know) she is in good hands – she has you looking out for her! Enjoy the weekend and have one beer! You deserve it.
Do want you can with the time you have and just roll with it. I am hard on myself too but feel like if I give myself monthly goes to work towards I get more done. A month is (at least) 30 days so I don't complete it in 30 days odds are I never will.
Also, Me Before You is m all-time favorite book. Eva.
I cant even believe that we missed Donut Day this year. What a tragedy for sure.
Girl…I am with you. I barely get through a book in six weeks these days. Things are busy and I'm just wondering how in the world people get it all accomplished and have time for all the super fun stuff! Maybe nannies are hiding in the closet and maids? HA! Wait, a second….I do have a cleaning business maybe I'm not operating to the best of my ability! xoxoxox sweet friend!
I even have a cleaning girl and I STILL can't get it all done. haha I did actually finish this book in less than a week! Hooray for me. It's so much easier to me to read fiction because I can just breeze through without thinking. When I read nonfiction I really want to soak it all up!
Haha…I managed to buy a dozen and 1/2 and not touch one!!
I really suck at setting goals. I need to do better about that. I LOVED this book though and finished in less than a week!! Maybe that's the key…I just need to switch to fiction…nonfiction takes me too much time to absorb. 🙂 Have a super week!
Thankfully I don't beat myself up much over this….I just hate to miss out. Ha! Look at my life…what am I saying?!! Not missing out!! I managed to survive with zero beer this weekend but I did allow myself some wine and did NOT track any of my food. 🙂
What and EVER! You are not lame. I think once I'm finished watching once I'll be able to just have it on and listen to it while I'm doing other stuff. But for real…CJ is gone this week and I'm determined we will finish FNL
Right? I can always count on a great pair of shoes to make me feel thin. 🙂 Hope you have a super week!
I actually finished and was okay with the ending…..until I started reading the next book. Now I'm so mad at him!! haha
Liz you are young and chasing after that baby girl you should be burning plenty of calories. 🙂 I seriously bawled finishing this book! I love a good cry here and there.
I managed to get it read in under a week Susan!! Now I cannot wait to go watch the movie. So good!!
I really think reading fiction is the key to finishing a book fast for me! I can definitely breeze through them much faster if I'm not trying to absorb it all. Have a super week!
I seriously just laughed out loud about Curious George!! Haha I'm not a tv watcher most of the time which makes me wonder what in the heck do I do with all my evening time?!! Summer dresses are my jam right now because anything with a waistband is not. boo. Hope you guys have a super week!
Dara I know right?!! GG is so good and I LOVE it but it has definitely taken a back burner. This book was so good! Hope to go see the movie this week.
You so do Jaymie! It was so good.
