Vegas Bucket List
We are heading to Vegas for a little adult getaway to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday and I’m mostly excited for a little time away. Hoping to cross a few more items off my Vegas bucket list for sure.
Our first two Vegas outings we stayed at the MGM. It’s possible I chose it the 2nd time after watching Oceans 11 too many times! Glad I will not be packing any high waisted jeans this trip!
Because it was close to the MGM, we also rode the Roller Coaster at New York, New York. I’m not saying it’s the best coaster I’ve ever ridden but I loved that it actually went through the hotel.
I’ve also headed to the Mandalay Bay Resort – Shark Reef and it is a nice aquarium if you need a little break from the casino. Other notables on this south section of the strip include Hershey’s Chocolate World and M&M’s World. I mean who doesn’t love to bring back 5lbs of M&M’s for the kids!
The very biggest item on the bucket list for me in this area of town this year is to take a picture with the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign! I mean 5th times a charm right?
If we happen to venture down to this area at the right time I would love to venture in one or more of these bars; Foundation
Room (63rd story bar/lounge), Minus
5 Ice Bar, Skyfall
Lounge.

So one of craziest things about Vegas to me is that everything looks like it’s really close to you as your walking. I guess it’s just the illusion because the properties are so big and often set back away from the road a bit but things are NOT very close together. I have never ventured far enough north to arrive at the Stratosphere Observation Deck and it is on my bucket list to head there at sunset one day but not sure it will happen this trip.
The Wynn brunch was always recommended as a favorite. We have been twice and there is nothing you cannot find here and the mimosas are bottomless.
I took Jordan to Vegas for her 21st birthday and we stayed at the Venetian which I loved because the rooms were more like suites with sectional sofas and space to spread out a bit. We didn’t actually take a Gondola ride but the shoppes along the canal are fun to shop and we stayed at this hotel on this trip.
Keith and I had a blast walking through MadameTussauds Wax Museum. It really is a little freaky how real some of these statues look!
A couple of restaurants I have on my list of possible eating locations this trip are Lagasse’s
Stadium , Peppermill Las Vegas. Thinking Lagasse’s would be a fun place to watch the Super Bowl.

The last time I was in Vegas for a conference and we stayed center strip at the Vdarra. Now, I am not a gambler so this hotel was perfect as there is no casino and thus no smokey smell. It was nice and quiet but was attached to a walkway across to the Bellagio which led right through the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The flowers in the exhibit were amazing.
You cannot miss the Fountains of Bellagio regardless of where you are staying. I recommend seeing both during the day and at night for the full effect! Keith gets bored way to fast but I could watch for hours!
The Siegfried
& Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat was just like the shark reef, on a beautiful day it provides a day time outing but probably nothing you have not seen.

The
High Roller (worlds tallest observation wheel) is totally on my MUST do for this trip. A friend gave me the tip to reserve online to insure a private car for your group only. She also told me the Hash House in this are was a must eat location that is open 24 hours.

More free fun watching the Volcano
at the Mirage erupt each night and while not free I think it would be fun to take the Eiffel
Tower ride to the top if only for the view.

I promise this was totally tasteful and we had such fun taking a Pole Dancing (aka stripper 101) class! Let me tell you, being a stripper takes some strength! And yes that was my then 66 year old mom totally being a full participant in the class!
Shopping the Forum
Shops @ Caesars is tops! Plus, where else can you go to the mall and drink while you shop. Amy loves shopping so I’m sure we will end up here at one point.

Cirque Shows are amazing and Love@The Mirage is my very favorite! If you love music by The Beatles, heck even if you don’t, this show is amazing.
For sure on my bucket list is venturing downtown. The Freemont Street Experience is something I’ve always wanted to do and this Downtown Walking Tour sounds fun. We will have to pose with Vegas Vic next to the Golden Nugget and find the Rocker Sign outside the Golden Gate. I would really, really love to visit the Neon Museum and possibly the Mob Museum. Evidently the best thing to do is people watch and the best places to sit and watch are evidently here!
I was really hopeful fitting in a Hiking Red Rock would be a possibility but I really don’t think it’s going to work out. Keith and I have already been to Hoover Dam and we definitely recommend you Take the Dam Tour.

Your making me want to go to Vegas again!!
Sounds every trip has been super fun! Hope this one is as well!
The shopping sounds like fun, actually the whole thing does. I need a vacation. Stat!
I've never been to vegas , mark has but not me. I wish I didn't hate to fly or I would so go there !! Have a great trip !
I have never been to Vegas but would love to go. I think that I would LOVE the people watching. I am not much of a gambler, but I have heard the shopping is great and so are the shows. Have a great time!
So many cool things to do! It looks like I need to plan a trip to Vegas…I've never been!
There is so much to do in Vegas! I love how there are so many free things in each hotel. The lions in the MGM are one of my faves!
Well…wait until you can go on an adult only trip. There are a lot of things the kids would love but when the sun goes down it definitely earns it's sin city name. 🙂
The people watching for sure and the shows are great. I'm not much on gambling either but my hubby loves to play blackjack!
I have always wanted to go to Las Vegas! You make me want to pack a bag and head to Vegas this weekend. The Stripper Class sounds like so much fun!! Have fun in Vegas!!
You had me at bottomless mimosas! You guys have fun! But, hurry home already!!! I'm missing you!
It is not my first choice for a vacation but it can be so much fun! I think going with a group of couples would be the most fun and I would say March/April would be the best weather.
Hash a Go Go is a definite must. OMG amazing foods and long waits so arrive early or join the players club for the hotel there. We did and got seated pretty fast. Lagasse Stadium very good. You might check in to see if they have a list for Super Bowl. Most places charge to sit in places like that for big events. My friends haven't found a place to watch the game yet! Its going to be crazy and busy and you might want to check on that! Have fun!
I've never been to Vegas, but this all sounds so fun!
We love Vegas! So much fun and great things to do there!
OH girl, you are not helping with my Vegas withdrawals! Reading through your post just made our last eight trips to Vegas flash before my eyes and I miss it SO MUCH. You MUST go to the observation deck at Stratosphere. It is absolutely incredible. Tip, go in the late afternoon and stay until it gets dark. That way you can see the city during the day, at dusk, and at night. You won't regret it! Have a blast!
I have never been to Vegas and if I'm being honest, it's not on my wish list of places to go. I'm not sure why but it just doesn't seem fun to me.
So funny….both of these restaurants were on my list! I was really thinking it would be fun to watch the SB at Lagasse. I just found out about Hash House last night from a friend and after looking online it is definitely a must!!
Right? It's a must for me to get the day started….of course then I might need a nap.
I definitely think it's a fun couples getaway Becky!
And lots of good food to eat! We are seeing Brittany and I think I'm most excited about that!
Ugh…..I may have to twist everyone's arm to go there. 🙂 maybe we will go when the Super Bowl is on and it won't be crowded lol. Thanks for the tip!
There is so much to do and the shows are pretty great…food is amazing…but yes, if you don't gamble it's not necessarily the most fun. I do love all the lights and people watching.
I think I'm the most excited this visit that I've ever been!
The shopping is so amazing!
Oh Kimm….flying isn't all that bad….just have a couple of drinks and relax.
Yes! I loved staying at the MGM! We are staying Aria so I'm excited to see what it's like.
What a list, was just reading it off to Mr. Saying we gotta do all this stuff Shelly says, lol. And say Hi to Brit, her boob popped out at the show last night!
Wow what a list! I'm tired just reading about everything you're going to do. We stayed in the Venetian the last time we went and it was so fun, those rooms are great! perfect for sharing with a bunch of friends. Can't wait to read your recaps.
That stripper 101 class sounds fun, lol! I can totally seeing it being WAY harder than it looks too. You are going to have SO much fun.
We love the shows and even just walking to see each of the hotels; how they're decorated and themed. It's a lot of fun.
reading this post just makes me want to go to Vegas right now! I'm sure I will get there one day! 🙂 Until then I will just live through you 🙂
I caught the end of that story this morning on XM but I didn't hear who it was so thanks for clearing all that up, girl!
Reading this didn't make me want to go to Vegas but instead it made me want high-waisted jeans. Remember the days when your pants stayed up and you didn't have to worry about showing crack or even back… High-waisted jeans plus a long shirt sounds like heaven on earth… no one would even know what you were hiding..
What a great bucket list! I've been to Vegas twice, once for fun and once for work. I love the shows and people watching! That pole dancing class must have been a blast and yes to bottomless mimosa's!

Hope you have a great trip- I haven't seen half of those things and now this is making me want to go back.
There really are so many great things to do in Vegas besides gambling. I've been several times but haven't done most of these! Hope you have a great time!
The first few times I came I really thought I needed to gamble….the last 3 I haven't put a quarter in a slot machine! I'd rather blow my money on something tangible. 🙂
We have had some yummy food and shopped a little but I am turning in early tonight in hopes I feel 100% tomorrow. My allergies are giving me a fit.
We went downtown for the first time tonight and holy people watching. Definitely took it to a whole new level!
Lol….so funny Mary! I was happy tonight to have some high waisted leggings on holding everything in!!
Brittany it is someplace everyone should see…..but there are definitely lots of other places that top Vegas for vacation!
Me too! I love all the interesting architecture and the flowers are amazing.
Girl….those girls are so strong!! It is definitely a workout.
Totally agree about the Venetian. Pretty darn impressed with Aria though…our room is amazing and I have a button by the bed that reads goodnight…when I push it all the lights slowly fad and the curtains close. Love it
Lol…totally heard about that! I can't wait until tomorrow….totally excited about the show.
I've never been but my sister is turning 30 this year and I think we might go for that. Probably later in the year so we can actually save more money and all that, but I'm excited. Thanks for all the fun ideas.

Definitely a place to go over 21 for sure! The shows are my favorite.
A 30th Birthday would be the perfect chance to go! Definitely try to steer clear of June-Sept….so hot!
