Dive In – Swimsuit Tryon
Happy Wednesday and welcome to May! In late February I was dreaming of days near the water and ordered some swimwear to try but with everything going on have never shared. While our summer may shape up to look a little different, I’m starting to have a little hope we might at least be able to visit the coast here in Texas a time or two so I decided to dive in and show you the suits I tried!
I was a little leary about the more reasonably priced swimsuits on Amazon but decided to order a couple to see how I felt about the quality. Both are the Cupshe brand and I have to say I was impressed with the sturdiness of the fabric. This suit comes in several color combos and the color blocking is very flattering. I am typically a size 8-10 in regular clothing but almost always grab a 12 in a swimsuit. These come in S, M, L type sizing and I grabbed a large.
I love the vertical stripes and perfectly placed ruffles for this suit! It also is from Amazon and ended up being the one I kept as it did seem to have a little more coverage on the backside. Again, fabric was thick enough and the support in the bust was sufficient.
Next, I grabbed a couple of suits from J. Crew because they have been having some killer sales. While the Amazon suits were under $40, these were still competitive at around $65 at the time I ordered. This suit is adorable! I ordered a size 10 and definitely think the 12 would have given me just a little more coverage and made me feel a little less out there on top so I did return this one.
Another J. Crew favorite I ordered this suit in a dark shade because I wasn’t sure how flattering it would be. This suit is so darn cute! I was worried that midrift ruffle would not work for me but it actually ended up being a win. I decided to give this one a chance in hot pink and ordered the next size up. It’s been sitting on my closet floor for weeks. 🙂
Lastly is this little winner from Target. I showed it off last week too but decided it was worth a second look. While I’ve tried high waist bottom in the past, I’ve never found a pair that worked for me. I’m excited to have these as I think having a black bottom on hand makes it easy to grab fun tops to mix and match. This top just really caught my eye because I love the colors and a great bandeau works for no tan lines!
Eyelet always screams summer to me and this coverup is both darling and functional. I can defintiely see me tossing on a pair of denim shorts and heading back to dinner without having to change out of my swimsuit.
Are you ready to dive into summer and grab a new swimsuit?
