Deck the Halls 2015
This is my favorite time of year to decorate my home. Christmas decorations are so full of warmth and joy.
I keep saying as soon as all my wrapping paper is gone I’m switching to brown paper only but so far that has not happened. I love wrapping gifts and seeing them displayed under our tree. Of course Dutch Buddy has already opened one so we will see how long this last.
My friend Kelli and her husband made this great card holder for me for my birthday and I can hardly wait to see it filled with cards with each day that passes.
I collected snow globes for quite some time and I only have a few left. Storing them in the attic several years took their tole and I just haven’t run across any I absolutely love. These are two of my very favorites and I am trying to give them lots of tender love and care.
Several years back I was a Southern Living at Home consultant and these stockings were one of my very favorite purchases. I still love them so much. They are all identical except for the monogramming which I changed slightly for each.
I really love the way it all came together. I didn’t add too many new decorations this year but somehow it always looks just a little different as I pull it together.
I actually kept things a little simpler this year and added just a few touches to the bookcase. I love my nativity scene. My Mamaw gifted it to me about 4 years ago and it is always one of my favorite things to pull out.
It was really hard to photograph my entry hall this year for some reason. I really think an external flash is going onto my Christmas list.
I created a little hot chocolate station in the kitchen and the kids have already depleted the marshmallows once.
And I added just a couple of simple touches in our bedroom with these snowflake pillows on sale from Target and a simple potted, lit tree. The bench I grabbed for less than $100 at Target has really been a great touch. This room is so darn close to being finished….hopefully soon!
Last season I picked up this tall skinny tree from Hobby Lobby during the after Christmas sale. I let my little Miss pick out all the ornaments and she decorated the entire tree herself. I was so impressed with how it turned out.
And what’s better Christmas decor than and adorable puppy!!
My most favorite is the tree at the end of the day when the house is totally quiet and the lights are twinkling. It’s almost as if I can hear old St. Nick whisper Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Beautiful decorations! I love the Christmas card holder…that is a really clever design. I also collect snow globes. The Texas heat in the attic can be brutal on them though. And your bedroom is just beautiful. Looks so coordinated and "grown-up." I need to work on ours. It always seems to be a mish-mash of different things.
Oh what beautiful decor! Love how lit your tree is! And love those stockings
Your mantle looks so gorgeous!!! Love it all
Thank you Tanya! I was so excited when my friend gifted that to me..I knew immediately what I was going to use it for. Just one more thing you and I have found in common. Thankfully I have found a place inside the house to store them to try and extend their life. I just love winding them up and watching it "snow". I am loving my bedroom…it has only taken me 12 years!!
Thank you Sarita. I just love this time of year.
Thanks Kimm….I love this this time of year and have been staying up way too late enjoying the tree.
Loving your home, bedroom especially. Louie our chi has opened a few too already. We stopped putting them out last year due to his curiousity and thought this year he would be better. Nope! Destructive little guy.
I just want to come over and have a cup of joe and sit in front of that tree with you!
Your home is beautiful! I love your mantel and the hot chocolate station!

Shelly, my goodness it's all so pretty! I am in love with those chairs in your bedroom!
Thank you Stacey! The chairs were my uncles and I love them too. Thinking of having them recovered but want to be sure there are done correctly.
Thank you so much! It is my favorite time to decorate. The hot chocolate bar is so simple with endless possibilities
Your Christmas tree is beautiful and I love your stockings!
So pretty Shelly – I love all the touches, especially your Grandmother's nativity. Hand me downs are so special. Glad to be touring with you today friend!
Love the blue & silver tree! Also, your picture of the living room tree at night is one of the most beautiful ones I have seen! 🙂

Thank you Caitlin! I love enjoying the lights at the end of the day when the house is quiet. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
Thanks Kim! Hope you are staying afloat and enjoying the season. Catching up on my book today!
Thank you Katie! Those stockings are definitely one of my favorite things to pull out each year. Merry Christmas.
The hot chocolate bar has been a big hit here. It has been so warm here so I think they are skipping the hot chocolate and eating up all the marshmallows!
Thank you Jill. Merry Christmas!
I think we should friend!
So far Dutch has only touched the one. I started crating him again for a few days but Friday he was out all day and didn't touch a thing. Merry Christmas!
