Currently – September + Linkup
Today I’m joining Anne and Lowanda for a look at what is currently going on over here as well as Jenn and Jessi for What’s Hap-“pinning” Wednesday.
Celebrating
Last month I celebrated my 3 year Blogiversary by sharing milestones from year 3 and goals for the coming year. Today I’m celebrating the winners of my Blogiversary giveaways! Nicole of Adventures of a Semper Fi Family is the winner of the Stella & Dot Taj Clutch and Andrea of Andrea’s Wellness Notes has some Rodan + Fields Hydration Serum on the way!
Watching
Hurricane Irma! Y’all, after 10 days of watching hurricane Harvey devastate Texas, all eyes are on the Florida coast. Watching and praying those ordered to evacuate do so swiftly.
Welcoming
September! Looking forward to a few cool fronts even though in Texas that just means a day or so without 96 degrees and 100% humidity. I’ll take it! I can’t wait to pull out a few fall decorations soon and receive my fall scents from Twine & Cotton. Astleigh’s candles are amazing and I love ordering the tiny 3 pack to sample scents for my sensitive nose. Currently waiting on Hello Fall, Campfire Weather and Stars Hollow!
Preparing
When I was growing up we had a quick “hey you wanna go to Homecoming” ask in the hallway and our dance was full of sweaty teens in the cafeteria after the football game. Well those days are long gone! Now it’s all about some clever ask and I was just tickled as could be Dillon decided to participate this year. We had a couple of ideas but settled on this baseball theme.
Super excited he asked a friend who could 100% appreciate the theme. Can’t wait to see these two all dressed up next month!
Photographing
To ease into fall I’m still pairing with suede sandals (still on sale, still amazing) but can totally see wearing this dress with booties or even my over the knee boots once it cools off. It never ceases to amaze me how true it is that leopard really is a neutral! I just love how it pairs with these bright colors.

Thank you Jaymie!
This dress is everything! I love that you print mixed it with the leopard- so cute!
Thanks Allie! I’m so glad I finally took some chances with leopard…..I use to be so boring! 🙂
LOVE that dress. The style and colors look amazing on you. That invite was really sweet too.
Thanks lady! I’m so excited Dillon decided to go this year!
Ain’t it the truth about all the prom-posals and now homecoming??? Whew, what a trend! That dress is SUPER cute and I love the leopard clutch paired with it! I haven’t done any outfit posts in weeks. I just ain’t feelin’ it and now we are on Irma watch!
Congrats on your 3 year Blogiversary! How exciting! Love that dress – the colors, the sleeves. It’s perfect for fall. Wow, I can’t believe even asking for homecoming dances has turned into a big “thing”. So much pressure. But what a cute idea you guys came up with.
Congrats on three years of blogging! Love that dress…gorgeous!
Oh Dillion way to go….so so CUTE!! That dress is SPECTACULAR, yes in all caps cause it’s that pretty!! You are so much gorgeousness!
Isn’t it fun? Still can’t believe it’s TARGET!!
Boy that dress is striking! I don’t wear dresses often but this is one I would love to have!
Peace!

I go back and forth Cheryl….I have so many dresses and not sure why I don’t stick to them for work more. I think the more casual atmosphere at work just makes pants easier some days.
Wow! Love the bright colors and it has a cape like style. Looks gorgeous on you! I love the baseball theme idea for your son. What a cute idea!
Have a great week Shelly

Jess, I could so see you wearing this dress! THe colors would be amazing on you.
Such a cute way to ask! I remember it being something short and sweet of oh yeah the dance, wanna go?
Whole new ball game these days! Thank goodness for Pinterest or I’d be screwed. haha
That sweet hoco ask was darling!!! I LOVE that dress and would have never guessed it was from TARGET. I’ve been meaning to get on for a while and check out their dresses. Thanks for the nudge!!!
I am seriously shocked by the dresses I received in my last order….all cute and all decent quality for the price!
The homecoming and prom proposals sure are waaaay different now than when I younger! I can’t even imagine what they’re going to be like when my kids get older! That was such a cute way to ask!
Girl…the struggle to find something original is real! Thank goodness for Pinterest is all I can say! Praying you guys stay out of harms way with this storm!
A blogiversary is a fun thing to celebrate! And nice Target find – definitely photograph worthy 🙂
He’s so cute and so is his date! And look at you in that adorable dress. Love it, sweetie!
I’m probably more excited than Dillon! 🙂 But she was precious and I don’t even think he actually asked her. She literally opened the door and said yes!!
That dress is absolutely stunning!
Thanks so much lady!
First, thank you for hosting the giveaway. I am so excited and happy to have won! Second, I’m right there with you on how school dances used to go. We would have loved a more formal homecoming but we had the same after the game dance 🙂 Last year I had to go “proposal” shopping with my daughter who asked her male friend as a casual date. So thankfully it was all in fun and no potential heartbreak involved. I love that baseball theme basket. It’s so fitting for your family!
I have to have that dress from Target! What a stunner!
Ok, yes, when I went to homecoming it was just a simple question and a simple answer. Now it’s gotten completely out of control, holy cow, the pressure! I love what Dillon did – just perfect!
So now it’ s our turn, I feel like a sitting duck waiting for Irma. We are as prepared as can get but I’m still praying the whole thing takes a major turn and goes AWAY!
xo,
Kellyann
Kellyann……I’m praying so hard for you guys!! It is definitely so scary to see the storm and the unknown as to where it will actually hit.
OH MY GOSH! You look stunning in that dress!!! Holy hot Momma!
Well THANK YOU friend! I honestly was super surprised with how flattering this dress was especially for the price.
Love Target and love that dress! Glad to see you guys are okay. Praying Irma decides to just stop in it’s tracks or turn back into the Atlantic. Don’t know where I’ll go if it heads up the East coast. Looks like it’s slowing down by the time it hits Charleston, but it’ll still be at least a category 3. Keep us in your prayers.
Praying so hard for the US…..I really hope Irma moves east and doesn’t hit directly. Definitely so sad to see all the destruction these hurricanes can cause.
Love that dress! I have got to get myself to Target!
I love that dress! And I’m praying Irma doesn’t hit too hard…the US needs a break!
For sure Julie, I keep hoping it ends up skirting the US instead of a direct hit. After seeing what it has already done so far to the islands I am very concerned about Florida.
Irma has me so nervous!
Aw, what a fun way to ask someone to homecoming. That’s great he’s going with a friend – i’m sure they’ll have a blast!

Oh now Lauren…are you in the path of Irma? After everything here in Texas the past two weeks I really hate to see another disaster approaching.
Not me, thank goodness – but my grandparents are in Florida and we’re just now sure if it’s going to hit them really hard or not yet.
So praying it moves east and doesn’t impact directly. Prayers for your grandparents and for you guys as you sit and wait!
That dress with that clutch is giving me all the heart eyes! What a fun and cute way to ask someone to HoCo. I love seeing how creative kids can be when it comes to dances. They go all out!
Oh my gosh, that basket is just too cute! Love the dress, too. Enjoy your day. 🙂

Thanks so much Jessica!
I love love love that dress! And it still boggles my mind all the fancy things kids do these days for dances!
Thank you Alison! I know, it really has gotten just a tad crazy and taken a little bit of the fun out of things. I was totally excited mine decided to ask a date to homecoming this year though because freshman year he refused.
Aww, Dillon’s baseball themed basket is just too cute!!! I love it. Woah, I cannot believe that dress came from Target! Love the bold colors and fantastic sleeves.
Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday, Shelly!
