Currently March + Style Six
I jumped back in joining Anne in Residence to share what is currently going last month and remembered how much I always love sharing with her the first Wednesday of the month. This month I’m joining in to share what I’m currently choosing, imagining, making, recommending, and wearing, as well as joining my Style Six sisters for somee linkup fun.
Choosing a new camera! My dslr has been on the blitz for some time so after lots of research I finally ordered the Nikon D780. I wanted to upgrade to he FX (full frame) version and it seemed perfect…right up until I started playing with it and realized it had no remote option! If you don’t know, I take almost all my own pictures for the blog so it was either learn a new method or send this sucker back. I finally chose to return the camera and now it’s back to the choosing which one I want to try next! Maybe I should consider renting one for a week before I dive in this time!
Imagining a trip to Alaska for our anniversary this year. I know if I want to make this a reality I am probably a little behind the curve already but have been patiently hoping we would know more about how the pandemic will be looking come August. While I’m not leary of traveing, I’m more worried about restrictions once we arrive somewhere. If you have traveled to Alaska I would love you to share about your experience and what month you traveled!
Making a homemade calzone. No, not really, but I literally hit the snooze button to continue a dream where I was mking one from scratch! We have been making lots of easy dinners lately with zero planning and I need to get back to meal planning! Last night we used our air fryer to make fresh fried fish from Keith’s weekend outing and it was delicious. I’m still amazed at all the things we have been making in the air fryer and was pinning so many recipes it deserved a Pinterest board all it’s own!
Recommending the book Share Your Stuff, I’ll Go First by Laura Tremaine. I started this book on Sunday and after 3 chapters I definitely recommend it. If you are someone who has a hard time sharing or don’t really understand the benefits of sharing your stuff, she gives a little perspective on why it’s healthy to share. If you’re not ready to dive in and buy the book, you can listen to her read Chapter 3: What are you afraid of? on her podcast to get a good feel. I listened to several other podcast episodes on my drive this weekend and Laura is definitely gonig to become a regular for me.
Wearing my closet! In February I decided to use my closet to create 28 days of outfits. Did I buy a few new to me pieces? Yes, I did add a few but not before I spent several weeks using what I had and evalutating what I my closet was missing. It was a fun experiment and I wore some super old items along with one super cute blazer I bought last February that still have the tags on it!!
My fave purchase was a pair of overalls. Back in the 90s I loved me some overalls and often made my sweet girl Jordan match with me. We had some super sweet black velvet ones for Christmas one year! When they showed back up on the scene the last few years I wasn’t sure if I could pull them off but kept trying to find a pair.
When I saw this pair was considered a “high rise” style, I decided to give them a shot since I’m so short waisted and thought the fit might work. I’m thrilled to say they are a perfect fit! I love them and the cropped length with the raw him is so darling! The best part……they are under $35!! Seeing as how I first looked at a pair that was $120 I felt like this was a steal!
I was watching a Friends episode recently and rachel was wearing a blazer with her shorts overalls which made me think about trying this look. I am obsessed with how it came together and it was perfect for a little Saturday outing. Next up, going to try wearing them glammed up a little more with a pair of heels!
Now it’s your turn! Share what you are currently wearing with us for the Style Six linkup.
