Today I’m joining Jenna and Anne for a look at what is currently going on over here.

Planning….our vacation to Springfield, Missouri.  While we are heading to Springfield primarily for baseball, this will be our “long” family vacation this summer and I’m determined we will have some fun family time while cheering on Dillon and his team.  You can check out what I’ve been pinning so far!

Enjoying…summer already!  We have already managed to take a trip to the coast for some fishing and have enjoyed dinner with friends twice in 4 days!  Looks like we are already well on our way to achieving our Summer Bucket List
Buying….shoes and anything that can be layered!  The Nordstrom 1/2 year sale reeled me in with the selection of shoes and I ordered a pair of Halogen pumps to replace the pair of flats Dutch ate that were no longer available.   I also snagged an olive striped Old Navy dress on sale and bonus it also came in tall. I ordered both sizes just to make sure it’s long enough to wear to work.  I love the orange and white swing dress I grabbed earlier this spring so I’m hoping this one will also be a fast favorite!

Just a few more of my favorites from the anniversary sale!  All the links may be found in the previous post here
Craving….man oh man am I craving every thing sweet!  After eating my way through spring, I’ve piled on about 10lbs and I know sugar (and maybe beer) is the main culprit.  Time for a little sugar detox to get me back on track and get rid of the donut around my waist!  So I’m working on turning my cravings back to “real” food with lots of protein and low carb favorites.  Thankfully I love eggs so I will back to making things like this sweet potato and sausage quiche! I know the first 5 days of no sugar will have me looking for things that are naturally sweet like fruit and I’m hoping to stick with berries along with watermelon.
Pinning….this little recipe for Sassy Water.  I just hate drinking water but I know it is partly what has me feeling so blah.  Christina at Sweet Carolina Charm shared this recipe several years ago and I’m hoping it makes me chug-a-lug.

Now it’s your turn!  What are you currently up to?!!

  1. You're Going to be one hot mama in those pumps! Oh sugar be gone! My downfall too and I'm trying to get off this belly fat for the graduation open house dress I'm wearing. Ha!! But I LOVE IT!! Loved seeing what you've been up too!!

  2. Since hitting 45 when I get too carried away with sugar it just totally settles into belly fat…and beer….oh my goodness I just can't even drink it anymore without almost instantly wearing it. Blah! You are going to be the hottest mom for graduation…no doubt here!

  3. Sounds like summer is going great thus far! Love those shoes and I'm with you on the sweets! ahhh soo tempting!

  4. Ok seriously I want everything from your Nordstrom list! Those lace up wedges are adorable and so is that floral dress!

  5. I seriously got almost giddy yesterday when I realized as a cardholder I could start shopping on July 14th! I've never actually made it to an actual store for the anniversary sale and I really have that on my summer bucket list. 🙂

  6. Oh man, I'm so sad to hear about your Halogen flats! I would cry if something happened to mine, I think! So glad you are already enjoying your summer! I hope it stays fabulous for you!

  7. I infuse my water when I begin getting bored. With summer here there is a variety of fresh fruits to add. If all else fails, add a pinch of vodka – no one will know!!

  8. Ohh I feel you on the sweets – once you can get off of eating them it is so much easier to avoid cravings, but getting there isn't always easy 🙂 Enjoy the vacation, and thanks for linking up!

  9. Oh the sugar! I know that's what I need to do too and fast before all of the summer parties start.

  10. That Sassy Water looks so delicious! And what a fun name. 🙂 I'm on the verge of starting to eat healthier with less carbs and sugar–it's not going to be easy, but we can do it, right!?
