Currently July
I’m super excited to be a guest with Anne of In Residence for this months Currently Linkup! We are sharing today what we are currently celebrating, visiting, baking, wearing and loving.
CELEBRATING | How fun to co-host on the 4th of July! We are of course celebrating this amazing country we live in today where we are free to choose how we want to spend our day and who we want to spend it with. We are free to love who we want, eat what we want and, the best, worship who we want! Of course non of this is really free and definitely comes at the cost of many who show amazing sacrifice. Today I pray for those protecting our country, their families and also for the leaders of our country.
VISITING | Good friends and family! The 4th is always such a great time for getting together with family and friends to celebrate. The weather is typically good, albeit hot, and we are generally summer is more relaxed. We almost always head to see the fireworks at the George Bush Library at the end of the evening but this year the boys have to be up and on the road bright and early so it may be an early night. We will be heading to a friends for food and fellowship and maybe a few fireworks. Here is a picture of us from last year!
BAKING | I’m missing my little baker as she is off spending the 4th with my mom and brother’s family. From my point of view it still counts as baking if you turn on the oven regardless of how easy it is right? I’m thinking some break and bake chocolate chip cookies turned ice cream sandwich would be the perfect July 4th treat! Loving how festive these look but at the same time I’m fairly confident I could pull them off!
WEARING | Well, I will tell you what I won’t be wearing today; the firecracker tee shirt I ordered from J. Crew! Sadly it won’t make it until July 7th so back to the drawing board! Since I only wore the outfit below for half the day on Tuesday and hardly saw anyone, I’m thinking I could get away with wearing this top again tomorrow with some denim shorts! It’s the perfect weight for a hot summer day and allows enough room for all the overeating I’m sure to do!
LOVING | Summer! Even though things have been super busy for me at work, the ease of summer has definitely made it less stressful. The long days and late nights just make my heart practically skip a beat!
A special thanks to Anne for having me as a guest this month! Be sure to link up what you are currently up to.
