Currently {August}

Today I’m joining Anne and Dana for a look at what is currently going on over here as well as Jenn and Jessi for What’s Hap-“pinning” Wednesday.

hearting:  my #Nsale purchases! This Lush top is still available in white and a burnt orange color and under $25!  I wore it for a date night last weekend and again with a skirt to work this week.  If you are keeping track, that’s already down to $13.50/wear.  Girl math always makes me happy!

watching:  this should be more like what I’m NOT watching.  My TV time has been pretty much zero lately, even Netflix has been on the back burner and don’t even get me started on the Bachelorette.  I’ve been doing a lot more reading lately possibly because we have been on the go. BUT…I was informed by my friend Katy I better step up my game because I only have until November to finish watching Gilmore Girls and I still have 2 1/2 season remaining!  Why November?  Because Gilmore Girls REVIVAL!  I see a girls night watching party in my holiday crystal ball!

exploring:  options for our Thanksgiving holidays.  I know it is super duper early but it is become clear this is the only time of year that really works for very member of my little unit to be together.  We have family with a recently purchased house in Ruidoso, NM and even though most of us are not really into skiing I do think we could have some fun that early in the season.  I’m weighing our options between this or some other place I can take 6 people with wildly different varying ideas of what fun is!

creating:  a huge mess!  My dreams of painting the kids bedrooms along with the hallway and the bathroom over the summer has still not happened.  What I have accomplished is painting sample paint colors all over the back of the house.  Isn’t it absolutely crazy how lighting can change up paint from one room to another?  I was really hoping to paint everything the same color but it is proving difficult.  I’ve pinned lots of paint colors as well as ideas on helping me choose and hopefully we will make progress soon!

eating:  clean! {mostly} except for some slips last weekend, I’ve been really working on eating a clean diet with low carb, no sugar and little to no alcohol.  I needed a solid jumpstart and refocus and decided to use the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to get myself back on track.  I do not like taking a lot of pills which is really a large part of the 2nd half, but the first 10 days is the Herbal Cleanse and I have to say Advocare has come a long way with how much better the fiber drink now tastes.  I really think in the future I will stick to just the 10 day program as it had me feeling so much lighter and and less bloated in no time which helped me continue making better choices.

That’s all I’ve got friends!  It’s a short work week as I’m heading out for the coast after lunch on Thursday and cannot wait for a little fun in the sun!

  1. Girl I need some motivation ASAP for clean eating and dieting. I have been just awful. Maybe if I start now I will be in good shape for next summer. Lol. Have a great weekend !!!

  2. LOVE that twist front top!! I need to desparetly get back on low carb, no sugar!!! Exercise I'm good but I'm literally eating a monster cookie with my coffee right now and mad about it!! I need some motivation!!!

  3. That Lush top is very cute! I saw in one of your other posts you read "Pretty Girls"so I got it on my kindle yesterday and I love it! I would rather read a good book any day than watch TV. Of course the problem with a good book is that reading is all I want to do!

  4. I am doing a 60% clean eating this month. I am slowly hoping to be totally clean eating BUT because I know me, I know that I can't go 100% the first month.

  5. I ordered a couple of the short sleeved Pleione tops thanks to your inspiration. I already had one and was happy to add a few new patterns to my closet. Also, grey is such a hard color to get right with paint. I looked at so many, and they can look green, lilac or taupe in different lights. We finally picked Behr Gentle Rain and really like it. By the way, what app/program do you use for collages/graphics etc? I have been bouncing around trying to find one that I like, but no luck. Thanks for the advice.

  6. Yea! I seriously love them…perfect weight for Texas too. I seriously cannot believe how different this paint looks. Literally the bathroom and hallway are right next to one another and one looks like it has brown undertones and the other blue!! I'll have to look at that Behr…I seriously think that is part of my issue just picking a color with all the dang choices!

I have been using Fotojet..and still use PicMonkey too depending on what I'm working on. I love that Fotojet already has pre-made templates and I don't have to think as hard about the font, etc.

  7. Stephanie I don't ever think I'll be 100% all the time. Life is just too short to not have chocolate or alcohol. 🙂 I do think having a quick jumpstart with 10 days of perfectly clean eating just helps me so much because I can immediately feel the difference it makes when I cut out the sugar and white stuff.

  8. Lol…it's been so frustrating for me lately Andrea. I just can't seem to get it all under control and then once I do it's hard to stay focused because it takes so long to see the results. I feel so much better when I'm eating cleaner but I want the love handles to be gone immediately. 🙂

  9. That is the season I'm on right now Darcy! I think if my apple tv was in another room I might watch more but the hubs goes to bed super early so I never feel like i can stay up late watching. It's taken us almost an entire year to finish Friday Night Lights!

  10. It's so hard Kimm…and I feel like it gets harder ever single year. After 45 it has really been tough. The only thing that works for me is cutting "bad" carbs and sugar!! I keep thinking…why the heck am I so worried now when summer is almost over! haha

  11. Woohoo for short weeks and fun in the sun. I also set out to paint my daughters room this summer and I have come to the conclusion that it probably won't happen until winter and I am good with that. Ha! Have a great day!

  12. Yay for short weeks, this is my first 5 day week in 3 weeks, boo! With the paint colors, we had that same problem. What we ended up doing was taking the shade we liked and then going two or three shades darker, so when painted it all looks the same, but in reality we have 7 different shades of brown in our house, LOL.

  13. I've been wanting to watch GG again too, it's been a long time! I can't believe that fall is just around the corner–I'm SO not ready to think about any holidays yet, but smart of you to get ahead and plan while you can!

  14. I currently can't wait till tomorrow! EEK! This time tomorrow night there will be sand between our toes!!!

  15. Ah the fact that you even said thanksgiving gets me excited! Sounds fun! Have fun and a great rest of the week!
