Currently April – Style Six
Good morning and happy Wednesday! It’s currently April y’all wish we were waking up to find this quarantine was a big April fools joke. Do you wake up every day in disbelief as much as I do? What I do know is as a family we are attemtping to make the most of our extra time together even though we may sigh a little loud when the social distancing is stretched further.
I definitely am working to combat the lows with as much positivity as possible and look for the good. So I’m joinnig Anne in Residence to share what else is currently going on as well as joining my Style Six sisters for some fashion!
SHARING lots of information regarding out local businesses who are desperately trying to remain in business. i’ve been so impressed with the way so many have quickly modified their takeout menus to incorporate family style meal combos. It’s been interesting to see artist and musicians and gym owners take to social media to find some way to keep their businesses moving forward amidst all the uncertainty but at the same time giving us an outlet to escape a bit.
WRITING notes to send in the snail mail! Social media has made it so easy to stay in touch but sometimes I think snail mail comes with just a little extra love. I’ve been using these birthday cards and thank you notes I picked up to send a few notes to friends. Especially during this time of isolation I think it’s a nice treat to reach out! You need only search the coming birthdays of your Facebook friends to get a little list going! There is always someone to thank and ALWAYS an encouraging word you can offer another!
WISHING my sweet friend Andrea the happiest of birthdays! While tomorrow is the actual day, I say you get to party all month long especially when there is a dang quarantine and you can’t see your mom! Hop on over to Living on Cloud Nine or visit her on Instagram and give her some birthday love.
INVESTIGATING all things Covid-19 and the current state of our economy. I’ve been trying to limit my “investigating’ to only a couple of times a day and have tried to stick to sources I feel are the most factual. I’m honestly always a limited news girl but I do like to have a clue. The Skimm and Morning Brew have been two of my favorites for keeping up with daily changes and I like them because I can get just the highlights or dig deeper if I choose. Of course the CDC and WHO have up to date info as well as our local updates from both our local and state. It’s definitely unchartered territory and I’m trying to remain concerned and conscious without letting fear take over.
BUYING some spring shoes and some really random crap on Amazon! Nordstrom played their cards well and ran a sale the 1st week my kids were no longer in school. I blame them for my momentary lack of willpower! I grabbed a new pair of Tory Burch sandals and this pair of Birkenstocks and am fairly set for summer now! There are still some of the Miller sandals being price matched like this rainbow inspired pair! I know it seems like a ridiculous splurge but I honestly wore my last pair non stop until they were comletely worn out.
I also had a chance to shop Loft just before the sheltering in place order went into effect and lucky you they are offering 50% off with free shipping! Last week I shared my tryon session which included this adorable olive eyelet top! Shortly after it arrived I saw Kim wearing an olive top with white denim and knew I needed to pull that combo together pronto! Love how it turned out.
So now it’s your turn to share your favorite look of the week! Maybe next week I’ll be recreating a look you inspired. Thanks Kim for helping me get dressed on day this week!
