Baby It’s Cold Outside – Ageless Style Linkup
Today I’m joining with some fabulous ladies to show off our winter style with a Baby It’s Cold Outside theme. We have only seen a few winter like days in Texas but we headed to Ruidoso, New Mexico to ring in the new year and we have been thrilled with the temperatures and even snow! Here is what I’ve been sporting to keep warm.
Layering fleece lined leggings and a cozy top under this great fair isle sweater (similar here) was definitely a good choice. My Uggs have seen better days but they were perfect for keeping my toes warm as we explored this beautiful state. I have been wanting to try the DL1961 jeans ever since one of my good friends raved about them so I snagged a pair when Nordstrom was price matching. I am loving them!
We stopped just outside Ruidoso on our trip in for a bathroom break and I seriously found this hat for 50% off….$8.95 and I have gotten every pennies worth on this trip alone. Bonus, I have not washed my hair yet either. My fave dry shampoo and this hat have saved me!
The boys of course had to have some time casting a line and trying their luck at fishing and it was an absolutely beautiful day even if it was a tad windy.
This coat has been in the closet since 2013 and even though I only pull it out a few times each year I truly love it. The color to me is just perfect for winter and the detail which is hard to see is beautiful.
To add a coat to my wardrobe in Texas it must be fairly lightweight and versatile enough to dress up or down. This one looks as great with white jeans as it does with dresses.
Another little gift to me was the BP sweater everyone has been raving about. It truly is so soft and definitely long enough to wear with leggings. I see it being pulled from my closet from September to May as it is lightweight enough for varying temperatures but also roomy enough to layer.
To keep it real, however, I have mostly been wearing this Under Armour cold gear top that I am so glad I grabbed on sale at Academy for every member on our trip. Coffee on the deck with a mountain view has been just what we all needed. I really wanted to delete this photo because, well, all the lines, but this is the real me relaxing and enjoying life in my $8.95 hat!
One more day on the slopes tomorrow and then we head back to real life. We have definitely enjoyed our holidays!

Looking beautiful! Happy New Year!
Jaymie
I have to say that it so strange seeing you surrounded my snow and wearing a hat, only because it's not your typical Texas backdrop! Enjoy your vacay!
Love, love, love! Both of these looks are so cute on you. You were made for the mountains friend :).
Thank you Tanya! We have been having fun and I'm still super impressed with how easily Carly picked up on skiing. Happy New Year!
Ha….I always feel like I'm clueless wearing a beanie but I'm loving this one! May try out my slouchy one today. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too Jaymie!
Ha! I love it Beth but my Texas bones get cold awfully quick. It has been a nice change though for sure.
A nice change for me! It's been fun to take some pictures away from a brick wall lol. My goals for 2017 is to get out more with my outfits lol
Loving that hat!

Your photography for this post is awesome…love the fence and the ball of snow! Looking lovely!
Thank you Deena! I wish I always had time to head somewhere fun for photo ops…hoping to do better in 2017 if I can find a dependable photographer. I may have to up my bribery schemes. Haha
Thank you Lauren…I always feel awkward in hats but have loved this one so much!
Totally loving your hat! I just ordered two more pom pom beanies today, and I can't believe yours was such a deal! It's weird because I all of sudden became a hat person out of nowhere!
Looks like you had a great time, and you were definitely stylish, too!

I always love white denim in the winter, and paired with your brown boots they just look so gorgeous.

Love the fair isle sweater.

Funny… I don't see any lines… I do see joy, happiness, and a dear beautiful friend soaking up every bit of happy she deserves! Now hurry home! 😉
I love that cute fair isle sweater! And your darling hat was such a great deal! I am jealous!
Oh my goodness that second outfit is gorgeous! Since they are calling for snow here this coming weekend I may have to copy cat you. 🙂 Of course I would need white jeans and have yet to purchase any. I should never recycle my clothing….palm to forehead!!! xo
I love that sweater in the first picture! So festive and fun, and that hat! I wish I needed something like that here, but like you I only get my really warm stuff out once or twice a year! Happy New Year!
That second outfit is so cute! I am loving the hat, too. What a steal!
I love that fair isle sweater you're wearing!! And the scarf in that second outfit is the best!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
You are sweet! Can't wait to hook up for some girl time soon!
I'm still a newbie with the white jeans but have definitely worn them much more this winter! Happy New Year!
Seriously….I have two now and I don't know why to put off wearing them before!
All the heart eyes for that hat. Adorable ! And that sweater…it's been in my cart for a few weeks now…how is the sizing. Should i size down or order my normal size ? And looks like a fabulous little trip you had
You are the second blogger I've known lately to go to Ruidoso. And I KNOW that I've been there before but just can't place why or what I did there. So weird! I love this fair isle sweater and was totally eyeing it myself!
Those boots are SO cute! I really want some over the knee boots. I guess I just need to get some!
Sounds like a wonderful trip! Glad you found ways to stay warm! I always find it very challenging when we travel to colder climates… I absolutely love your fair isle sweater! I don't own a "winter sweater," but I've always wanted one. Yours is so pretty. Glad you stumbled upon a hat that is super cute and kept you warm. And what a deal! Great coat, too!
Wishing you a healthy & very happy 2017!

That hat is so cute on you! I got one from Target a few weeks ago and I have been waiting to wear it. It is supposed to get cold here on Sunday so I am planning an outfit around it, lol, it might be the only time I get to wear it!
We are looking at a cold weekend here in Texas too so I'm hoping for more time in my hat! I seriously didn't wash my hair until the last night of our trip. 🙂 It was fabulous. Maybe you will have winter eventually in Florida!!
Andrea I honestly have way too many sweaters for a girl in central Texas! I have vowed not to add anymore! I just couldn't help myself…this was my first fair isle print ever!! Wishing you a beautiful 2017!
I am 5'7" and it has been a challenge finding just the right pair. Most are not really "over the knee" for me and the ones that have gotten all the way over squeeze my leg just enough to make it look awkward. I do love this pair though and have worn them way more than I ever thought I would!
Whitney….is it bad that we have these little blackouts from our memories? Haha Ruidoso is such an easy drive for us and it was perfect for our first time skiers.
I would size up Kimm….I did not and I wish I would have. Of course, in Florida, you probably will never need to layer under so maybe TTS is the way to go.
That scarf is so old….but it is one of my faves EVER. Happy New Year Biana!
Right? I seriously should have bought the hat in both colors they had for that price! Happy New Year Emily!
We will have a few more cold days here in Texas so hopefully the hat will see some more time on my head! If nothing else it saves me from having to fix my hair. haha When it gets cold the struggle for what to wear is so huge because I want to wear all the pieces I never get to wear!
Copy away friend! I seriously am hoping to get my butt back in gear enough to downsize some of my items…literally. It would be nice to head into spring and purge my closet because I need a smaller size. haha
It was so beautiful there Ruth! It was a nice change from the warm and humid flat scenery we had been having in Texas. Happy New Year!
I have a similar hat Shelly but not had much cold weather in NC to wear it. Looks so cute on you! Love the color of your coat wit hthe white jeans and tan boots. Fab! I have heard of those jeans but never tried them. Sounds like a great trip!
Thanks for linking with turning heads tuesday

haha, I know right?! I try not to buy too many really warm pieces for that reason, I'll just want to wear it all and be sad that I can't.
I love all your looks, but I love the colorful print on that first sweater! Happy new year!
You look so adorable and cozy in your hat! Don't you love a fun find like that? And you're rocking those OTK boots too, Dear! Thanks so much for sharing with Fun Fashion Friday and I hope your 2017 is off to a fabulous start!

I love that knit hat on you! So cute. Fleece lined leggings are a must for this Clevelander :). Have a great week!
Karen I am obsessed with this hat and wish it was acceptable for work! I did wear one pair of fleece lined leggings I thankfully had on hand since a NYC trip a few years ago. I loved visiting the cold but this Texas girl probably isn't tough enough long term!
These jeans are an investment Jess but I really am loving them and they have been on serious repeat. Thanks so much for hosting!
Thank you Lauren! Can you believe it's my first ever item in this print?!! Crazy
Really kicking myself for not buying the grey hat too for that price Laura! Hope 2017 is off to a great start!
I love the colorful scarf! 🙂
These outfits are both perfect for colder weather!!
