A Pinch of Green!

· ·
How fun is it to have a day when you actually have the chance to pinch someone?!?!  I mean come on…don’t tell me you have never really wanted to pinch someone and get away with it.  I have always loved St. Paddy’s day and the fun of wearing green or not and claiming to be wearing green undies just to avoid being pinched (guilty).  I may even find a way to track down a green beer on Tuesday!

Last year was the first time I actually purchased a few St. Patrick’s Day decorations.  My friend Holly made me a super cute rainbow swag banner for my mantel and I just couldn’t bare to let it live there alone!  These items add a little fun without getting carried away and coordinate well with the spring decor.

If you have never used split peas as a vase filler, pick some up the next time you are at the grocery store.  They are the cheapest and easiest way to fill your vases with spring love!

We will also have a somewhat traditional Irish meal on Tuesday and it is one of the simplest meals I ever make.  Corned Beef brisket can be purchased at pretty much any grocery store and I pop it in the crockpot, cover with water and cook all day.  It is always perfect and always delicious.  We will add cabbage instead of the brussel sprouts we ate this day and more than likely some cornbread.
It has warmed up here in Texas so I’m hoping to wear something similar to this to keep from getting pinched on Tuesday!
Hope you have a fun St. Paddy’s day!  I love a reason for a celebration don’t you?

  1. I think I am just plain weird but I have never really celebrated or decorated for St. Paddy's Day! I think it may be because it is so close to my b'day and that is my story and I am sticking to it! haha…..Now, with that being said….I may have to take a stab at what cute tee shirts are still available at my local Target and have a cute workout tee for my PIYO class tomorrow! I have also never drank a green beer. I know. Weird huh? and Yes I love beer! Enjoy your celebration and also, thanks for the tip of dried split peas as a vase filler! Who knew?

  2. I love these decorations and decided I'm hitting up Hobby Lobby this weekend for leftovers because I don't have enough to make it look festive. Loving the green cardi too!

  3. I love your blog, it's great! Green is my fave color and St. Patrick's Day is one big celebration in our home because my hubby is Irish! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing this on Making Memories Mondays! 🙂
