Show and Tell – My Loves

·
I love nothing more than showing off my family so participating in Show and Tell Tuesday with Andrea to share my loves was a no brainer.
Here is just a little introduction (or repeat for those regular readers!) to my loves.
My oldest girl with the smile that lights up a room!  I love so many of Jordan’s qualities and often find myself thinking of the rule following little girl with a slight bossy streak.  I always thought I would be sad for her to leave home and venture out in the world but instead my heart has continued to grow with each of her accomplishments.  I love that we can be adult-ish together and my heart really swells when she comes to me for wise counsel.  The crazy thing is even in her adult state she is still teaching me how to be a better mom by learning to just listen sometimes and not always need to fix things.  While I do see myself in her, she is so much more perceptive than I was at her age.
Number two makes me laugh like crazy and can drive me half out of my mind all in the same hour! Riley has a big heart but is extremely hard headed and maybe a little more like me than I like to admit.  He loves attention and wants to be private all at the same time.  Politically correct will never be words I would use to describe him which sometimes gives me heartburn.  He does have amazing taste in music and likes it loud which kind of makes me proud.  At the end of the day, I’m 100% confident he would step up to lead our family if he was ever called to.
Oh boy, Dillon just makes my heart do flip flops.  He’s so much like his dad in that he is respectful and kind but is not going to go out of his way to put his heart out there.  When he calls me momma it totally melts me but the next day he may choose to ignore me all together.  The one thing I know for sure is he is always grateful for everything I do for him.  His quiet confidence at an early age makes me really proud.  He loves old country, all things hunting and fishing and basically is just a clone of his father which of course makes me think he is perfect.
My little bit is the baby in every way especially when it comes to the measure of her confidence! Carly Jo is just what God knew I needed to complete our family. She keeps me on my toes and will call me out in a New York minute for not listening, texting while driving, being late, you name it. The crazy part is she does it in a way that is honest but not so judgy that I want to rebel.  Ha!  The child becomes the teacher.  She is so much fun and loves going pretty much anywhere (except shopping) and doing pretty much anything.  The day she leaves I may become one of those moms I’ve never felt I could relate to!
My newest baby, Dutch, is just such an incredible blessing!  I did not ever want a dog but this guy came along and I fell hard.  There are so many times I just can’t wait to get home to see him and in the mornings as soon as Keith leaves he knows he can snuggle with me.  I never dreamed I could ignore dog hair to the extent I do now and when he smiles (yes he has a smile!) at me I know I’m his favorite!
The guy behind the girl.  Keith quietly sits by and lets me think I run this show. The truth is if he didn’t love me so well there is no way I could do all that I do.  No one other than my daddy has ever thought I was as amazing as this guy does. Realistically I know all my faults but seeing myself through his eyes makes me want to be a more caring wife and mom.  There are times I still want to pinch myself because I can’t believe I got so lucky!

These are my loves; my biggest challenge and all my dreams come true all at once.  When I thought about being a wife and mom one day I never realized it would fill me up or humble me to the extent that it has.

Happy Valentines Day to all of you!  May the loves in your life fill you up today.

Also joining the ladies at Tuesday Talk!
