White Jeans for Fall + Scarf Exchange

When Vanessa at XtremelyV advertised her annual blogger scarf exchange I didn’t think twice!  Last fall I participated in a scarf swap hosted by Rachel and Astleigh and it was so much fun.

Fall Fun
My box showed up last week and I was so excited because it came from a blogger I “know” and also because #nordstrom!!  Katie from The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life is a teacher, blogger and wine drinker and she keeps it real on her blog which I love.  I also confess…I follow way too many bloggers who are my “mental age” and sometimes I feel a little silly when I realize they are closer to my daughters age!  🙂

How surprised was I when I opened up the box to find a scarf which has actually been sitting in my Nordstrom shopping bag for months!  In fact, I am fairly confident I also debated purchasing last winter too.  I just love the more pastel colors!  I quickly went to work finding the perfect mix in my closet.  The great thing about this BP scarf compared to other blanket scarves is it is oblong which makes it less bulky and easier to style.

Y’all, did I do a good job or what??  I am still not 100% confident wearing white jeans in the fall and winter but this look I really think I can pull off!  I love these white jeans but also just ordered this pair of relaxed slim fit jeans from Ann Taylor.  Maybe I will be seen styling white jeans all year long!

The pictures of this cardigan online did it no justice and I really just couldn’t decide but finally pulled the trigger when it restocked towards the end of the anniversary sale. I love my longer blardigan but this baby is perfect!  The length is just right, it is super soft but not overly warm and it has POCKETS!!

I grabbed this bag last year for like $25 and it has been such a fave.  I’ve gotten into a really bad habit of carrying my big tote all the time and I just love how this crossbody works with this outfit. Seriously loving the similar bags here and here but if I was up for a huge splurge this Valentino is to die for.

I seriously can hardly wait to begin wearing tall boots!!  I waited until the end of the season last year to grab these over the knee boots by Steve Madden and they are fabulous but I really didn’t have a chance to wear them much. I’m so looking forward to wearing them out this year.

A friend asked my opinion on OTK boots for shorter women.  Honestly, I have seen so many women 5’5″ and under rock the heck out of the OTK boots.  In ways I think I had a harder time finding the perfect pair with longer legs.  The verdict?  My friend and her daughter snagged these DV boots from Target and she LOVES them.  So those of you on the more vertically challenged side need not shy away from this look!
Have you ever participated in a blogger exchange?  This was my third and it has been fun receiving and gifting a little happy mail.

  1. I love the white jeans styled this way! This is a terrific look. I laughed at your comment about following so many bloggers who are closer to your mental age, that describes me to a T, lol!

  2. Love your boots and LOVE that scarf. It is perfect for you and looks amazing with those stripes. That age comment made me laugh too. We sure do like you and I wish I could be 26 again :P.

  4. I pulled on a pair of white jeans today with a cute cold shoulder black top and black booties! I was not sure at first but have gotten many compliments! How funny to see your post just now!

  5. I'm kind of iffy on white jeans all year long Emily….I love the way they look on other people and how they can make an outfit pop but when I see myself wearing them I always feel like they don't necessarily hide my flaws if you know what I mean.

  6. I'm so sorry that I missed out on the scarf exchange! Love what Katie picked out for you. This whole outfit is perfect and you are rockin the white jeans! I know what you mean about "mental age" friends – I seem to have quite a few of those myself :)!
