The Queen’s Chronicles
It was a big weekend for us full of last minute shopping and a quick drive to drop Dillon off at college. Sadly for me, Rice University made the decision to only allow the residents into the dorms. I was so sad not to be able to see the space he will call home for the rest of the school year and put a little bit of my touch on it.
At Rice students are assigned to a college upon admission which they will remain in the entire time they are in school. So while he is in Duncan dorm this year, he will always be part of Duncan college. The campus is beautiful and I can’t wait for a chance to go back and spend more time there. We are excited he is going “away” to school but at the same time glad to know he’s a short 90 mile drive from home.
Dillon is a lot like me and when he gets a little nervous or overwhelmed he becomes a little short. It was a little hard to read whether or not he was really excited or not. Last night I received a text from him that read not gonna lie, I’m gonna love it here. Made my heart so happy!
This little sunshine turned 3 months old! How is that even possible?? We think she is perfect! She loves her little hands right now and can’t get enough of watching the ceiling fan!
My friend Katy organized a little back to school prayer event here in town requesting our community to join together at the schools Sunday evening and say this prayer together. We head back to the classroom tomorrow and Carly is excited. It will look different for sure but I know these kids will rock it way better than we will.
This morning was the first day for my gym to offer 5:30am workouts again and you can bet I was there for it. I will never take it for granted again! It has been so hard fitting in my workouts during the day as there are always competing priorities. Yes, I could have been working out in the morning at home but this girl has zero self motivation!!
Monday has also welcomed rain…like really heavy rain and my yard is going to be so happy! Hope you have a super start to the week! I’m joining Heather, Johanna, Lindsay & Tanya for Hello Monday.
