Saturday in the Life – Blogtember #10
Back for day 10 of the Blogtember challenge and it’s all about sharing a day in the life post. My initial intention was to document my Friday but, y’all, most of the day looked like this and, well, that’s just not very entertaining!
I’ve shared a typical Monday in the life in the spring 2016 and a fall 2015 so I thought it would actually be fun to document a Saturday! Obviously that means this post it just now happening. Here is how the day shaped up!
Saturday mornings with nothing to do are my favorites! We had nowhere to be so I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed out to the porch to do a little reading.
Leftover breakfast casserole for breakfast and one more hour reading! Fridays I need easy meals so I made this easy casserole and there was plenty left because Keith would not touch it since I used the turkey breakfast sausage instead of regular. These people at my house sometimes make me crazy!
Our front flower bed has been driving me nuts for a bit and this was literally the first weekend we have had a free Saturday and the temps were not outrageous so I decided to give it a go.
So much better an hour later after ripping out all the hawthorne shrubs and removing all the weeds.
Dillon is playing in a fall league so I headed to watch him pitch a couple of innings. He looked really strong!
My sweet girl had her wisdom teeth removed on Thursday and she still isn’t feeling so great. I stopped by Chicken Express for some mashed potatoes and sweet tea.
Time to get cleaned up because all that work made me hungry! I parted my hair on the opposite side for a little change. I’m working on growing my bangs out and it has been a little tricky.
Happy mail arrived from sweet Sarah at Tucker Up and it is the perfect new addition to my fall decor. You can shop her newly opened Etsy shop here. Maybe tomorrow I will have a chance to pull out the remaining fall decorations.
My mom showed up and we headed to Napa Flats for lunch. I decided a cold beer was in order after all the sweating. The food was so good and we ate it too fast for a picture!
I wanted that beer bad enough that I let my momma drive! Love these girls.
Back home and it was time for a little nap! This is not a typical Saturday occurrence for me but it was amazing!
I’ve really been trying to take outfit pictures on the weekend instead of squeezing this into the afternoons. As the days begin to get shorter this is going to be much more important for my weeks ot run smoothly. This little alley just across from my house is perfect.
So yummy! Sausage, corn, zucchini, squash and red potatoes wrapped in foil and typically cooked on the grill. The hubs was dove hunting so I opted for cooking in the oven and it took a little longer for the potatoes but was so delicious.
My favorite two things on the weekend….be productive and relax a little. So far it has been a success!

Looks like a productive day to me, I'm afraid if I documented a Saturday there'd be a lot of me sitting in front of the TV, lol!
Love the plaid top and those shoes! Those shoes sold out during the sale.
You had a great weekend! Now go have a great week xoxox!
Yes to naptimes on the weekend! So rare, but oh so welcome!
Kathy….the plaid top is TARGET!! I am super excited about wearing it.
Kellyann…someday I'm going to get all caught up and then I will get to watch tv. haha
Yard work, beer, and a nap is total Saturday perfection. That allet looks perfect for outfit photoa too!
Ugh typos. Darn my fat thumb!
You are cracking me up!!! Obviously you are catching up no blog reading as the hubby drives you home!! Can't wait to hear all about your beach vacation!
That is exactly what I did 112 posts to be exact!
