Anywhere – Blogtember #9
Last Thursday I decided to jump on the Blogtember bandwagon and quickly scribed a brief introduction to get started. I knew this would stretch me to come to this place and dump a little from my overcrowded brain but also take a chance on meeting a few new bloggers so I decided I was up for the challenge! It has proved to be harder than I imagined and some days it has been late in the day before my post was actually born but so far I have only missed day 4.
Blogtember #9 brings the question; if you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? Why?
If you have been following along with me for any bit of time at all, you may have caught on that one of my strengths is not making decisions. This prompt killed me! For someone like me who has very limited travel experience, deciding on an “anywhere” is really, really hard. There are so many places I want to see. Narrowing it down to the why definitely helped a little but choosing one single anywhere was alot to ask from this indecisive gal.
I’m settling on Colorado in the summer. The mountains, cooler temperatures than Texas and beautiful scenery within a reasonable drive from home fits the bill for our family. Why? Going anywhere for me would be the best with my family. I’d love their full attention and big fat smiles on all their faces. This looks like the perfect place to unplug and enjoy each other’s company. I definitely think I could relax in a place like this and that is tough for me. Rafting, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, ziplining all sound like fun with some opportunities to try something new and maybe even face a few fears.
With all the daily pressures of wanting to be the best mom and wife possible, letting my hair down and just living a little is often put on the back burner. I want to relax but it is just not in my DNA. Going away to somewhere without the every day pressures is the only time I can truly put it all behind me and enjoy just being. The ever running reel in my brain shuts down. I listen to the rhythm of my body instead of letting the clock tell me what to do. It’s amazing and refreshing and I’m positive extends my life.
Do you have a place you would choose above all others?

We love Colorado but have only ever been in the Winer. More importantly, I love what you said about the pressures of being a good mom, and wife and the fact and need of importance to get away from it all and just enjoy your family…so vital!! Happy Happy weekend gorgeous!!
I'm with you…anywhere with family is where I want to be! We went to Steamboat Springs, Colorado a few summers ago and fell in love! There's so much to do there in the summer and it is beautiful!
Colorado is incredible during the summer! The mountains are breathtaking! I'm currently trying to convince my husband that CO is where we need to settle when he gets out of the Army!
I want to see all of the connected 48 US states, including Colorado. I have never left the East Coast, and I have only been between Florida and Maryland.
Oooh, I want to see Colorado in both the summer and winter someday! I grew up in the Pacific NW and now life in Texas, so I really miss 4 seasons (and semi-mild summers), which is nonexistent in the lone star state, so Colorado would feel familiar in that sense plus there are so many outdoor activities to do!
Elle, I would not even know what to do with 4 true seasons! I've been in Texas my entire life. Seeing the NW or the East coast in the fall is definitely on my bucket list.
It's a constant on our minds isn't it Andrea? It's really hard for me to shut down unless I'm truly taken away from it all.
I haven't been to Colorado as an adult and it is definitely some place I think would hold everyone's attention. My cousin has a place in Ruidosa, New Mexico too so I'm thinking we may have to do that soon.
I really think Colorado is a place I could live too. I would love to rent a jeep and head off across the countryside. So pretty!
Robin my travel is so incredibly limited! I've been to both sides of the country and some states in between but still so much more to see!! Finding the time always seems to be my issue!
Ha it isn't in my DNA either! Colorado looks gorgeous but I would have to choose somewhere along the ocean. 🙂
