Stripes on Stripes
Pattern mixing can be some intimidating but can also add a certain punch to an outfit to take it to a new level. Today I’m showing off one I’m not sure I’ve pulled together previously; stripes on stripes
I’ve already professed my summer love for this little Old Navy swing dress! The perfect combination of cool but pulled together. I ordered in this color, royal blue & black and earlier an orange pattern. I’m really digging this burgundy & navy stripe still in stock!
Why stop with combining just one pattern? This day I really needed a little more fun and threw in leopard wedges and my favorite leopard cuff.
Stella & Dot has me swooning with all the new things I’ve picked up 50% off since becoming a consultant. If discounted jewelry and meeting new people might be of interest you can check out the S&D Stylist incentives. I’d love to chat! If a virtual party to earn some free accessories might be more your speed I’d love to help you with that too!

Pulling together an outfit which makes me feel both stylish & confident tends to allow me to let my inner beauty shine through. If I feel pretty on the outside, chances are I’m going to react to the daily challenges of life with a little softer attitude and with grace and love.
I would definitely say it’s been the summer of the swing dress for me! What has been your favorite thing to wear this summer?

These are my favorite kind of dresses to wear in the heat of the summer. Comfortable and stylish. You are right when you say, "If I feel pretty on the outside, chances are I'm going to react to the
daily challenges of life with a little softer attitude and with grace
and love." Whether it be a new outfit or an old one jazzed up, how we dress can make us feel a whole lot better on the inside. Thanks for linking! You are beautiful!
Dresses like these are just the best. Give me clothes that breathe come hot, hot summer. LOVE the double stripes. I would never think of that.
Love this dress!!!!

I've lived in swing dresses this summer, but I kindly refer to them as my moo moo dress without sleeves. They are so comfy and not tight fitting at all. However, I tend to live out what my Home Ec teacher taught me in the ninth grade and I usually stay away from stripes. You look cute!
"Hey Shelly! I wanted to let you know that that I Feel Pretty link up is back on Wednesdays! http://getyourprettyon.com/14-piece-ten-day-summer-vacation-packing-list/ I'd love it if you'd stop by and link up with me. Every blog that links up in July will be entered to win a $250 Nordstrom gift card. xoxo Alison"
I have lived by that rule forever Laura….and this last year I added stripes back I've been pleasantly surprised. Hope you are having a super week!
Love that dress! Fairly certain I have the one that is red and white 🙂 I need to mix strips together too. So cute.
A good risk to pair stripes with stripes. Because the outcome is fabulous.
Great pattern mixing!

Thanks! I'm glad I finally took the plunge and tried it out. Hope you have a super week.
I seriously don't think it would have ever crossed my mind Beth if this clutch had not shown up the same day as the dress..lol. Swing dresses have been such a blessing lately!
Thanks for the inspiration Michelle! I forget sometimes (probably too many times) that I should focus more on the inside.
That dress is so cute!! I love the swing style and I don't usually think to wear stripes together, but this totally works. Love the large + small stripes together.
Love love love this dress !! You wear it well 🙂
Yay for all the swing dresses! I really like this striped one and thanks for the heads up about the burgundy being in stock. Double stripes and double leopard? Sign me up! I have been searching for some summer leopard sandals and they are not the easiest to find…
Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday, Shelly! Hope to see you back this week.
