Dog Gone Friday Favorites
It is only right that I honor at least one special member of my family today for my 500th post!! I didn’t even see that sneak up on me AT ALL.
This week we celebrated our little Dutch Buddy turning two! If you read our Summer Bucket List, then you know throwing a dog birthday party was on the top of Carly’s list!
In early June while Carly visited my mom for the week and she had my mom running her to Wal-mart and Family Dollar picking out party decorations which she also bought with her own money! I was super impressed this was so important to her and knew we had to make it special.
So we invited a few friends and family over for dinner and prepared a special meal!
This may have been the very easiest party food I’ve ever thrown together but also the cutest! My sister-in-law also showed up with her famous avocado dip and we were good to go with wienies and brats.
Of course no party is complete without dessert so of course we had some Pup-cakes for the doggie guest and a few regular cupcakes for their people. The m&m’s were suppose to look like paw prints but I think I should have stuck with the oreo milk dud combo like these here.
We used the recipe found here and Carly was able to mix them up all herself. The icing was a mix of 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt and 1/4 cup peanut butter. It was pretty yummy.
Of course the guest of honor was so surprised and ready for a PAWS-atively good time!
Jordan and Pesto were super excited to come join the fun!
Carly remembered everything, including this cute little badge for Dutchy to wear.
Sisters and their pups! My heart is full.
Finally it was time to sing Happy Birthday to Dutch and everyone gathered round!
Look at his sweet little face! Oh my goodness he was so excited about his cupcake!
We had so much fun and I totally failed to take pictures of all of our sweet guests or all of Carly’s decorations. This girl of mine is just so thoughtful and sweet. She always, always has her friends and family on her heart and she is always interested in celebrating the little things. I hope this little part of her never changes!
Katy & I will be hosting Spiel the Beans this next Tuesday, June 28th, and we would love for you to join us! We will be sharing our Favorite Summer Salads and we hope you will share yours.
Hope you all have a super weekend!
