Here are a few ideas for celebrating some ordinary summer days and some ways you might share your daily joy with others!
National Flag Day is June 14th. With all the crazy in our country some days this is the perfect chance to display the flag and share with others. With July 4th being so near it should be super easy to find mini flags at Target or the Dollar store so why not pick a few up and share with neighbors or handout to a few people you encounter around town. These fun popsicle stick flags would make a fun craft with the kids too!
I love to see National Go Fishing day on the calendar and so does my family! Grab a pole and some worms and find a pond and make some memories on June 18th!
Ice Cream Sodas should be a part of every summer day but on June 20th make them a special treat! Grab some fun paper straws and invite a few friends over for an afternoon treat. Maybe you are ready to try a new combo like these Dirty Dr. Pepper Cherry Floats, or pick from one of these 25 ice cream floats. I would love to try a girls night in with these yummy champagne floats!
Do you love making homemade waffles? Maybe National Waffle Iron Day is the time to try out something new maybe like this yummy grilled cheese. Or how about cornbread topped with chill. But if breakfast is still your thing then maybe these ham and cheese hashbrowns would hit the spot.
Recognize your postal worker with a sweet surprise in the mailbox on July 1st for National Postal Worker day. This can be as simple as a candy bar and a sweet note!
Hop a Park Day? Yes, please! How fun to grab the kids and find a few parks to visit for the day. Head out for a walk while the morning is still cool and then grab a picnic lunch and cop a squat barefoot under a tree for lunch. End the afternoon at a park with a splash pad!
July is full of ways to celebrate with food! Last year we grabbed all the fixings and celebrated National Hot Dog day which was so yummy! Invite some friends for a cookout and enjoy a summer evening.
Lollipop Day would be another great opportunity to share some love with those in your community. Grab a bag of dum dums and attach some sweet words of encouragement to hand out to people who cross your path during the day.
Wouldn’t it be so fun to celebrate Macaroni Day not only eating macaroni but maybe letting your little ones make and decorate a few macaroni necklaces.
Pick up some melons and get the kids on your block together for Watermelon Day. Make sure to save the seeds and have a seed spitting contest.
Summer is full of days to celebrate special people! Plan a special dinner, write a sweet note or send a care package to celebrate Beauticians Day, Cousin Day, Kids Day, Friendship Day, Sister Day and Middle Child Day!
Definitely take the time to celebrate National S’More Day and take a load off to jointly honor Lazy Day!
I hope this gives you a few ideas of ways to bring a little extra fun into your ordinary summer days!
HOW FUN!!! Love this and I'm thinking I need to celebrate each and every one of these days!! I'm going to print this off and try to do something to celebrate them all in style!!! I'll get the fam on board, well, maybe except the pink day, ha ha!!

I just saved your list too! I am thinking that just because I no longer have kids at home (for the time being anyway!) this is a fun way to celebrate summer for Tony and I!
I love these ideas. My birthday is on Flag Day, but not very many people know about about that national day. I will definitely be trying these with the kids!
These are great ideas, Shelly! Thanks for sharing!
LOVE this list! I had added days to our summer calendar but missed a few! You also gave me some great ideas!!! I won't be in town 6/20 for the champagne floats but would love to celebrate a day early! 😉 We could toast our hubbies on Father's Day! 🙂
Oh my, this list is awesome!!!! There are so many great ideas here! Especially with great food, and who doesn't love celebrating with food?! I really love the macaroni day idea. I'm definitely saving this list. I love making the ordinary days fun for the kids! -Jessica, Sweet Little Ones
