Floral & Stripes
I’ve been looking for something floral to add to my spring closet and stumbled upon this top at Target! Floral is hard for me because I’m not super girly so it has to be just the right pattern. I love that it will be able to be dressed up with a skirt for work or down with jeans.
While browsing Pinterest for outfit inspiration, I stumbled across this picture. I still struggle with pattern mixing so the thought of mixing a striped blouse with a floral skirt had never crossed my mind.
After organizing my closet for spring I realized I already have a floral skirt in my possession. This skirt has been hanging looking for just the right pairing for several years. I am notorious for buying something on sale but never finding just the right mix to make it something special. I decided to go for it and do some pattern mixing with a striped top which has also been underutilized in my closet.
I purchased this lightweight jacket last summer and it is the perfect spring jacket. I would like to also try a bright cardigan with this skirt.
I’m really loving the colors in this skirt!
While I was in the pattern mixing frame of mind I decided to try to pull something together for these shorts I purchased but had not really found a pairing for. I’m thinking this might just be a winner too! I get way too excited when I find a way to use items from my closet together!

L-O-V-I-N-G the paisley shorts and striped shirt outfit! The necklace just pulls it all together! Super cute!
Floral and stripes are making me super happy!! Can't wait to give it a try!
It was a stretch for me but I'm going to keep trying!! I have no doubt you can pull it off.
Stripes and subtle floral were my first choices when I ventured into pattern mixing! They're still my favorite way to add interest to an outfit, paired or alone!
I don't know why I never thought about these! My first shot was plaid and stripes but I'm thinking this will be a new fave. Have a great day Yalanda!
I love your Target find!! So pretty and a great introduction to wearing floral. I'm nervous to mix patterns as well, but I love what that girl in the pinterest picture did!

Thanks Robin! I am still just not super confident in the pattern mixing arena but I'm getting braver. Have a great weekend!
Love love love the looks! Love the paisley shorts and would have NEVER paired with a striped top until I saw your look! Work it, girl! I saw that same floral top at Target but wasn't sure about it but now I am rethinking it with my jeans! Cute! I get tired of the same old t-shirts and striped shirts! Thanks for the info! Have a great Hump Day!
I'm loving this floral top Kim! Wearing again today with a skirt and jacket for work. I really do think it is going to work well with shorts, jeans, everything and it's not so busy.
Shorts are your thing! Amongst others of course.
Thanks! Evidently I love shorts….was so shocked to see 23 pair in my closet after unpacking my spring clothes..eek!
Love the pairing of the floral and paisley with the stripes! Great outfits.
Thank you….I am thinking the shorts are going to quickly rise to one of my favorites this summer! Have a great weekend.
OK, two things—I am seriously swooning over that bag! And I love the look with the striped shirt and floral shirts…girlfriend, I think I've said it before but you've got some great gams 🙂
Haha..thanks Jenny! My legs use to be my very favorite….still working on accepting them the way they are at 45 vs 25!! Have a great Easter!!
