12 Free Reads with Kindle Unlimited
Do you use a Kindle for most of your reading? I took forever to convert because I loved the feel of actually having a book to hold. Now that I’ve converted I decided it was time to try some free reads with Kindle Unlimited.
Of course I still purchase “real” books if I know it is something I might want to hold onto but my favorite time to read is bedtime and since Keith turns in much earlier the Kindle allows me to log some reading without disturbing him.
Since converting to a Kindle (the paperwhite series), I have gone from reading about 2 books a year to averaging 25 books a year. I love having multiple books loaded and ready to go as we travel to baseball games or on vacation. The paperwhite allows me to read with zero glare at those sunny ballgames.
I also love I am able to download a sample of most books first and read a chapter or so. For me if I’m not interested immediately it’s hard for me to stick around.
Initially I read a few reviews regarding whether or not Kindle Unlimited was really worth the monthly fee and the verdict was split about 50/50. A few months back I decided to give it a run using an introductory price and I have to say I’ve found quite a few books worth my time for free with Kindle Unlimited.
Here are 12 books I found to be 4 stars or more you can download for free with a Kindle Unlimited plan or for under $6 without. I’ve listed the non-plan price beside each.
Say You’re Sorry ($1.99) or any of the books from Melinda Leigh if you like thrillers.
Match Making for Beginners ($5.99) was one of the first I read this year and it was a cute little love story with some quirky characters.
When We Were Worthy ($5.99) gave me a few tears but it was a story I think most of us can empathize with from several angles.
After You Left (.99) was an easy read with an ending that shocked my socks off. I honestly really liked this book even though I have read a couple of others who didn’t agree. For free or .99 without the unlimited plan it was definitely a plus for me.
When Never Comes ($5.99) was well written and I really was invested in the main character and so hoping she would allow herself to love again. And seriously, if this becomes a movie I want Bradley Cooper to play Wade!
The Things We Wish Were True ($4.99) definitely had some twists and turns I didn’t see coming.
Verity ($4.99) if you like demented then this is your book. My jaw remained dropped most of this book but I couldn’t put it down. **graphic sexual content**
A Curve in the Road ($1.99) was super easy to read but not super in depth. Had I read When Never Comes first I definitely would not have liked this one as much because the plot is somewhat similar but the main character not as deep. Still, for $1.99 or free it was worth my time.
Everything We Keep ($3.99) is book 1 in a trilogy and I really loved all three. The first is told from the perspective of the wife left behind.
Everything We Left Behind ($4.99) is book 2 and told from the perspective of the husband who disappeared.
Everything We Give ($4.99) and book 3 digs into the past of the new husband which brings things all full circle in the end.
Who We Were Before ($4.99) I have just started so it is somewhat unfair to share but the reviews are decent and if the first few pages are any indication it is going to be a page turner.
We will be heading to Orlando this summer for a dance competition and Carly Jo has her heart set on Harry Potter World. Y’all, we know nothing HP so I challenged her to read the books. If you are in the minority like us, you can also find HP for free with Kindle Unlimited.
You can sign up and receive your first month free to gauge how much you would actually use it. Be sure to mark your calendar so you don’t forget to cancel if you find it’s not for you!
So how about you? Do you love reading with an e-reader or do you prefer a “real” book most of the time?
You can always head to my book reviews to see more of what I’m reading.
