10 on Tuesday

· ·

Joining Karli for another 10 on Tuesday this week from sunny Florida on the last day of our trip!  I love a good vacation as much as anyone but by the time the last day has arrived there are a few things I have to admit I’m missing a little from home!  Here are 10 things I have missed while on vacation….

1||Coffee…..oh how I’m missing a great pot of coffee.  I seriously love nothing more first thing in the morning than grabbing a great cup of coffee.  Keith makes the best and the coffee I’ve had on vaca just doesn’t compare.

2||My bed….we bought a tempurpedic about 3 years ago and it has been a blessing and a curse.  I sleep amazing when I’m at home in bed but not so much on the road.  Note…not sleeping well plus no coffee = long days on vacation

3||My pillow….the first morning I seriously woke up with a huge crick in my neck.  My pillow is perfect and every other pillow is either too soft, too fluffy or too flat.

4||Ceiling fan…ridiculous how much we love our ceiling fan and I don’t think it’s for the cool air but the noise it provides.  The 2nd night I woke up twice and turned on my bed time fan app and it helped but evidently ended up disturbing the other members of my party.

5||Personal Space….y’all….I LOVE these people but holy moly after a few days I need a space to retreat with my own thoughts for a few

6||Multiple bathrooms….how in the world did my grandparents do it with only one bathroom their entire lives?!!  Not to mention it’s the only place I might find some personal space but with one potty it is short lived.

7||Texas highways……..I have missed the freedom of roaming Texas highways with people who are all driving at least the speed limit (if not 5 miles over) and highways that are FREE to drive on.  I was not prepared for the number of tolls.  I’m sure this is a result of not knowing our way around but most of the routes we have been provided by Siri have had multiple tolls and othing is more frustrating to me than not knowing where I am and seriously after 5 days I have still not really figured this town out.

8||Beauty products….while I’m proud of packing in a carry on, that means many of my favorite things stayed behind.  My fave shampoo, my amazing hair dryer, my fave face scrub….all at home and I can’t wait to see them again.

9||Breakfast….I am a total breakfast girl.  Most days we have headed out for adventure without a “real” breakfast and I have so missed my regular protein.

10||Dutch…I’m just going to say probably the thing I miss the most when I’m on vacation is my sweet Dutch.  Never questioning or complaining he’s bored…..just loving me unconditionally and appreciating me just how I am.

Don’t worry….as much as I have missed all these things we have had an amazing time visiting Orlando!  Can’t wait to catch you guys up later this week hopefully over a cup of my hubby’s fresh brewed coffee while I munch on breakfast!

Have a super Tuesday!

  1. One of our Bigs is from Orlando. She is heading home for Spring Break next week and then on to Miami with a friend. Oh, to be young and cute again! {sigh.} Anyway, I can totally relate about personal space on vacay! And I don't like to go anywhere for a long period of time. I like short get-aways much better!

  2. When Mark and I travel we are those people that bring our own pillows and tabletop fan. It's pathetic!!! Glad you had a great trip!!!

  3. you just kill me. i used to be the person who could sleep anywhere. now i'm like…need my own pillow. sheets have to be just right. etc. when we stay at my mother-in-law's i literally bring all of our own bedding. i'm ridiculous. 🙂 thanks for linking up!!!! xo

  4. I hate Florida tolls!! It's hard to tell which ones you are supposed to go through and which ones are exits. I have to have noise. I use my sound machine app on every trip. I'm pretty selfish and could care less if it bothers anyone else haha. The way I look at it is, everyone is happier when momma sleeps.

  5. I am so glad to discover yet more we have in common! I have a pillow I bought last year by Aireloom. It is the most amazing pillow and I have convinced Tony I need one for the beach house now too. I seriously always get a crick in my neck for the first night at the beach and its not working for me. And we bought a grand temperpedic back in 2007. You are so right- a blessing and a curse LOL ….no we don't have one at the beach house, I was afraid we'd NEVER get it broken in as we are not there for long periods of time. So we bought an Aireloom mattress and it is AMAZING and we love it too. I hope DisneyWorld was awesome. I am not a Disneyland fan at all. I do NOT believe it is the Happiest Place on Earth. Not at all! Hello? Crying kids, babies and parents everywhere! LOL Safe travels back home. Did you spend time with Riley???

  6. Oh one more item: Have you ever thought about a white noise machine? We got one for the house and we love it! My youngest also has one and she loves it and you can put it in your suitcase and plug it in and well ok that is all. We got ours at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's nothing fancy but it works amazing!

  7. I hear ya on the mattress and pillow! I have a severe dust mite allergy, and hotel rooms are the worst!! We are headed to Cabo in 3 weeks, and I am so dreading the stuffy nose and puffy eyes.

  8. We have so much in common as I drink my coffee and eat my egg muffin cup ;-). Welcome home, I hope you had the best time pretty lady, can't wait to hear all about it!!

  9. Oh how I TOTALLY can relate to needing some personal space! Love being with the fam but can a girl get 5 minutes without someone saying "mom"! 🙂

  10. Totally may have to. I really think the biggest thing is going from a King size bed to a queen…I'm all about snuggling but once we are asleep I need that sucker to be on his side of the bed. The snoring is just too much mixed with all the heat he puts off..haha

  11. We are not necessarily the Disney types either but I definitely think it's all in the planning and I was able to hit everything just right. My boys especially are not ones to just stand around waiting. I will never understand going with itty bitty kids though and for sure ain't know way I would have gone 8 months pregnant! And yes….we saw Riley every day. His girlfriend was also there the same time and we had not seen her in forever so it was a great visit.

  12. That's awesome! So happy to follow along on his journey! My nephew has had several baseball scholarship offers! He is a junior in high school and in October had a full ride offer to Fresno State but it was too early for him to decide. He will get a fabulous school, no doubt! Its fun to watch his journey as well!

  13. Same here! OMG I hate sleeping in a queen bed! LOL we sound super duper spoiled…Or at least I do. LOL
