10 Facts About Me – Reintroduction
Howdy, as we say in Aggieland! At the beginning of the year I love doing a little reintroduction to share a few fun facts about me. For those of you who are new, my name is Shelly Janac (pronounced yah-notch) and I’m so excited you have hopped over to visit The Queen in Between. I am a Texas based life and style blogger with a passion for making a positive influence on others. As a busy wife and mom to four, you will also find me sharing my views on parenting (my craziest adventure!) and marriage along the way. Overall, I hope to keep this space positive but also realistic.
The Queen in Between blog was established in August of 2014 and I recently celebrated my 3rd Blogiversary! Truth, before blogging I had zero clue how much time it would take but also had no idea my favorite part would be all the connections I would make.
You can read more about me along with some of my fave blogs posts by visiting the about me page and a little about my sweet family too.
Here are 10 little facts about me!
Keith and I have been married for 16 years after meeting in a bar some 19 years ago!
My super power is making beautiful babies. Super proud to be the mom of Jordan (27), Riley (24), Dillon (16) and Carly Jo (12) and also somedays super tired from being their mom. I always say parenting is NOT for sissies!
I have a degree in accounting but consider myself a “recovering” accountant after moving more into a finance role 13 years ago. Numbers with less rules and more creative thinking, yes please!
Jesus is my favorite! But I haven’t always been willing to share. I spent many, many years feeling super insecure regarding my knowledge of the bible and also many years feeling too ashamed to follow Him. Whew…glad I found some grace!
I was once a Creative Memories Consultant and still have tons of stock I refuse to give up in hopes one day I’ll finish all those scrapbooks! But seriously, if you need some scrapbook supplies hit me up. Ha!
When I was 12 I wanted to be a truck driver. Like a big rig truck driver and my friend Wendy and a white rig picked out with a big rose on the door. I’m thinking I had been watching a little too much of BJ and the Bear with Greg Evigan.
Being a singer was also high on my list and I really still have this big dream to sing on stage just one time NOT at karaoke. I’m pretty sure I do not sound as good as I think I do in the car but I LOVE singing.
My first two kids were born while I was still in college and I missed a total of 3 class days between both their births. Who was I? I’m pretty sure my current self would have been like…ummm..I’ll just sit out this semester! I graduated when Riley was just shy of 2 months old.
I have a photographic memory as long as I’ve seen something written down I can almost always envision and recall.
I am 100% a night owl and would much rather stay up all night working on a project than get up early in the morning. Keith wakes up at 4am every single day and luckily he makes amazing coffee!

I am so very glad that we came across each other’s blogs!! You are such a great friend! And I’ve never told you this but I think it all the time–your daughter Jordan looks just like you! Y’all are both so beautiful!
MeetTheShaneyfelts
Thanks Sarah! We have people tell us that all the time and we don’t really see it unless we both are wearing a top knot. haha
This is such a fun list! Isn’t it funny to look back on childhood career aspirations. For awhile I wanted to be a teacher, but I also remember wanting to be a hairdresser/beautician for a long time. My love for makeup still hasn’t died! Havea great weekend!
See, that’s a secret I didn’t know about you Tanya! I love makeup but I’m not “good” at it. Maybe you can give me some tutorials. haha
Oh my goodness, I cannot believe you only missed 3 classes with your first two kids – that is amazing! I absolutely love that you wanted to be a truck driver – definitely not something you hear too often! I used to love to scrapbook and still have a bunch of my mom’s supplies – most of the things from Creative Memories!
Creative Memories is truly the BEST scrapbook and pages out there…..you would die if you saw my stock. haha
My earlier suspicions that you were pretty amazing have been reconfirmed in this post. Love your honesty and candidness. What a woman!
Thanks Leslie! I don’t know about amazing…but I’ve been super lucky to always have the support of my family and thankfully a God who has never given up on me.
